I've been to this restaurant in years gone by several times for lunch and dinner and it never disappoints. Last week whilst L'Escala I went again for the menu del dia and it was superb. Each course was delicious and beautifully presented. Unbelievable value with service from efficient, friendly staff. Next time i'm in L'Escala I will definitely return.

Traditional style Barbeque restaurant with friendly service. Large selection of fresh meats, sourced locally, cooked on an open grill in full view of the dining area. Good selection of local and Spanish wines and craft beers. Hugely busy in the summer mon
Greeted by the eloquent owner this is an inviting looking place with straightforward , good value food with the grill the main attraction. We could not help ordering filet steak at 17 euro which were cooked to order.Good buzzy atmosphere and by the looks of it does fresh fish well.If you are not a wine buff it does a very cheap house wine.

Popped back in here for lunch and it still offers the same great food with good service. Kids love to share the long frankfurter sandwich which is really tasty. Service is good with staff asking for your order promptly. My wife had a mojito which came in a pint glass!! Very good mojito if a little large but that is not a concern! Overall a nice place to eat with reasonable prices especially given its prime location.

We'd been visiting this family run resto since the '80. We didn't return to L'Escala for the past 5 years and were scared that the place had shut down. Many tradicional places in the town have gone down (Ca la Neus at Nieves Mar Hotel, Els Pescadors at Port d'en Perris). Fortunately, it still serves excellent, traditional dishes at reasonable prices (far from the typical places that offer dishes with very long names and very small servings). Worth visiting every time you go to L'Escala.Thank you very much Josep for your comment, and thanks for remembering us after so long !!! Indeed, we have more than 50 years and we try to make each day a little better !!! Thank you!!!! Joan.

GROP is a restaurant located in front of the beach in L'Escala cente. We offer an open range of possibilities, from "tapas" to "paellas". Our suggestion is simple, enjoy our dishes and share it with family or friends and feel at home. Fish is a must, but
I took my Indian family to Grop to experience real Spanish/Catalonian food. I called and the staff at Grop explained what they could do to enhance my in-law's dinning experience. When we arrived everything was ready. The maitre d' spoke English well and she helped us understand what we were ordering: ingredients, preparation, taste and textures. It was one of the most pleasant dinning experiences of all my travels. We all agreed that it was the best food, the best service, the best location, and the nicest people we have met this trip. I would visit L'escala again just to eat there. I recommend Grop enthusiastically!

We had lunch in the shaded garden. We ordered about 8 or so tapas. All were delicious, anchovies, small fish, potatoes, croquettas, cheese etc.All were cooked beautifully, the owner checked that we were happy - he was confident about the quality of the food. The staff were excellent. It was a lovely cafe.

Really liked this restaurant which is shaped like a cellar. Service was mature and professional and food excellent. Had prawns wrapped in sole and my wife the beef rolls. House wine very cheap , excellent desserts with a free drink of Ratafia at the end .An excellent dining experience repeated on our second visit when I ordered a sirloin steak from specials menu to find that it was a fillet steak and one of the best I have ever eaten!

We had a lovely evening here, we were with 8 persons and a nice round table was ready for us. We asked for several formulas for the menu, none of them was a problem also for the kids they made an adjustment. Very friendly staff. I had the mushrooms cream and the monkfish Paella both were very tastefull and rich on taste! If you are in the neighborhood, don't hesitate and make a reservation!
