Black Sheep Bistro opened in September 2010 and is family owned and staffed. We pride ourselves on producing fantastic homemade food with brilliant service. Located on a cobblestone residential side street at St Georges Cross, we are a little off the beat
We arrived from Canada today and were looking for authentic, hearty Scottish food. We showed up without reservations but the staff snuck the 4 of us in and were amazing! The food was outstanding (lamb shank, chili, lentil soup, black pudding stuffed chicken, haggis pakoras) and while they had to hurry us along for another reservation they only charged us 5 GBP for my 5yr old's meal and boxed up our desserts for takeout with the same flair and attention as if we had been dining in. Highly recommend for food and service. Great first Scottish meal.

We aim to bring our customers good Italian cooking at competitive prices. That's a simple idea. Taking the freshest produce available we create incredible pizzas and pasta dishes. Alongside our meat, fish and chicken the choice is wide but carefully chose
Really enjoyed a family meal here. Very good value with super pizzas. Great ambiance. Staff were very helpful as my son was arriving late and they allowed us order pizza after 10pm.

Recently had a meal here, and not being very hungry, ordered the black pudding and blue cheese salad. It was amazing, so tasty and a large portion which left me satisfyingly full! The service was excellent, and our waitress recommended wine which was so nice. Lovely atmosphere, and importantly, not too noisy like some places.

A small Italian restaurant serving delicious, freshly made, authentic Italian food.
My husband and I travelled from Ayr (around 45 minutes) to this restaurant after reading so many 5 star reviews on here. Being 38 weeks pregnant and finding most menus donât cater for pregnant ladies I was happy when I saw the menu online and so we booked for our wedding anniversary meal.On arrival we were slightly disheartened by the appearance of the building itself, lacked âpavement appealâ with stubbed our cigarettes and litter at the entrance as well as an abundance of flies as you walked in the front door- however, we continued into the building hopeful we would be surprised. The smell of stale smoke and beer was not great as the pub joining the restaurant which was crowded with loud drunk men caught our attention. As we made our way into the restaurant area on the left hand side which was dull and uninviting we were directed to the furthest away table - directly below a speaker which was playing very loud dance music. The seats and tables were dirty with crumbs and sticky marks. The menu was presented to us and appeared shabby and much less inviting than what we had seen online - the same content only on a sheet of A4 paper. We were directed to some specials which were scribbled on a whiteboard with a marker pen on the other side of the restaurant. As this was a special occasion we decided against eating in this establishment- we paid for our drinks and left. I would like to think we would have been pleasantly surprised by the food if we had decided to stay- however I dread to think about the presentation of the kitchen when I consider the restaurant itself. Very disappointing considering the âglowingâ reviews which worryingly do not match our experience in the slightest.Dear Emma HI am very surprised and disappointed firstly that trip advisor allowed this review considering that you did not even dine or allow our service team to give you a great experience. Yes our little restaurant may not be The Ritz however as you have seen by our TA ranking the other 125 5 star reviews cannot be wrong. They also by the way had the common courtesy of at least trying a dish. Giving a small suburban establishment a 1 star review without giving them a chance is disgraceful. The pub next door is what you would expect from a pub on a Saturday night meaning Emma people are enjoying themselves. I also see many other establishments all over the globe are getting the 1 star treatment in your reviews. I really donât think much would please you Emma and I would put on record for other restaurants to be aware of TA reviews you post in the future. My chefs and service staff did not deserve this.Regards Derek

Winners of Scotland's best Cafe/Bistro Award 2012, 2013, 2014 and Best Italian Bistro 2013! A beautiful authentic Italian eatery, familay run with quality food and value for money always!
Had yet another brunch at celinos and as usual it was tasty. Even with a kitchen let down happening, the staff handled it well and left us informed of what was going on! My partner had the full breakfast with tea and I had the mozzarella French toast and latte. All lovely, I'm sure we will be back again!

The restaurant was warm and friendly, live singer gave it a nice atmosphere. We went specifically to have steak as a treat to ourselves as I think Italians cook steak so well. We both had fillet which was huge and cooked perfectly. What let it down was the accompaniments - only 1 mushroom halved, 1 bit of broccoli each and a few carrots. Chips were also cheap frozen ones. They were all tasty though. We had tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert which were both lovely. We finished with espresso martinis which were delicious. Service was great to start, became a little slow by the end of the evening, we had a bit of a wait to get someone for the billOverall we had a lovely meal and will be back
