Stopped by this pub/restaurant on the way back to the Hotel. As the name suggests it is a German orientated place. It seems to be quite new(Early 2013?) or recently refurbished anyway. They had a nice Bitburger beer to wash the meal down.I had the mixed grill followed by an apple strudel . Both were generous portions and well prepared. The waiter(Owner I think) was not the most bonhomie of chaps, but give me that over "Have a nice day" any-time .The place was clean and the service prompt, apart from a delay in actually paying the bill, but all in all a pleasant place to dine. There was some seating outside so I am sure I will try the place again in the warmer weather.
Leuk adres, vriendelijke bediening. Concept waarbij je je eigen lunch kunt samenstellen. Verrassende gerechtjes, heerlijke verse munt cranberry thee. Aanwinst voor Joure, dus tot een volgende keer!

We were expecting to walk into the township, but were reluctant due to rain. We decided to stay and try De Oranjerie. We were delighted with the food, which was reasonably priced. Added to that was the extremely friendly staff. Win win!!!!

We arrived after 18.00 and where politely presented the concept of 4-6 (surprise)-courses for 37,50 pr person with an option of wine-package for 24 Euro.Coming from Norway, these are very fair prices, so we dicided to let the chef suprise us, -and he did!In adition to the four announced courses, we were presented several entremets. All courses where superbly simultainously served and presented by a staff of young schooled people, who all were very polite. Our sommelier was Nely herself. As for the service, all courses scored way over our expectations and gave us one of the gastromical highlights on our three-week tour.Like its predecessor "t'Plein", Zuiver restaurant definitely aspires to a Michelin-mentioning - or more..Thank you Marten and Nely!

We ended up at this restaurant on the recommendation of a local after considering several others that were well rated. What a delight it turned out to be. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived. Our waitress was personable and capable and fluent in English. The food was creatively prepared and delicious! We were served three "amuses" each of which was a tiny work of art. Sauces were rich and delicious, vegetables light and fresh and perfectly complemented their main dishes. The table settings were simple but elegant with lovely linens, and set a good tone for the evening.

Nice modern and very crowded. We ordered anti pasta misto as a shared starter. Fine quality meats and cheese in a portion certainly big enough to share.Pizza was good but fine was a bit soggy in the middle which is why I'm not rating it quite 5 stars.

Our party of four visited Bistro Fred on a Friday evening and the place was buzzing and quite noisy. The uninspiring menu was mainly meat-based, with very little choice for fish lovers or vegetarians. I ordered the starter of home-smoked mackerel and salmon. The fish was delicately smoked and excellent. My main, the only vegetarian main course option, was a spinach schnitzel on a bed of couscous. I was interested to sample a spinach schnitzel but when it arrived was disappointed. Basically a (probably factory-made) large, deep fried, pretty tasteless object: spinach coated with breadcrumbs. The couscous was OK and of course included the inevitable goats cheese. The other members of the party had fish of the day (three overprlced but apparently quite tasty, pan fried Dover Sole), the other some sort of pork schnitzel with bacon which received positive remarks. The beer menu was clearly Heineken influenced, this multinational, as usual, offering only uninteresting and bland beers, with no tasty microbrewery or local brews to be seen. The service was prompt but tinged with a slight customer-unfriendly edge. All in all quite pricy for what we got. This sort of place could do with updating the menu: less meat, more fish and vegetarian options, washed down with some fine local beer.

First family diner since a long time. This restaurant has been recommended to me by one of my work colleague, we weren't disappointed. The staff was friendly and spoke a perfect English. All the dishes are prepared with ingredients of the season, everything was fresh and well cooked. I had the vegetarian dishes that was as rich as a meat plat. The choices are limited but you will find something to your convenience.

Second time in two weeks for us to visit this restaurant. In the 'Friese meren region' one of the best restaurants to visit.Priced very reasonable. Starters between 12-15 euro. Main courses around 20 euro.Informal yet classy, authentic and quick service. Good choice of foods, wine knowledge is notable. As a starter I had the veal sweet read and the codfish as a main course.

Create your own lunch by picking three dishes from the lunch menu. They will be artfully presented on your own plate. Taste the soups, pick a salad and choose your fillers and we will prepare a delicious bread roll. If you wanta dish less or more, you can
The concept of trying as many dishes of the menu as one likes is great! And the selection of food from all over the world is - given the affordable price range - fantastic. Many of the small dishes are very well made and taste very good - but note that you cannot expect a culinary experience like in a Michelin star restaurant. The interior of this restaurant located in the old court house is a real treat - regardless of whether you sit in the main room or in the glass house style inner courtyard.Overall, this is a highly recommendable place for a slightly different restaurant experience. And whilst some of the dishes still have some room for improvement, it definitely makes for a great fun night as a couple or with family and friends.
