Then this is your answer. It's only a couple of miles, if that.So I've been twice now, and I have to say that both times the service was outstanding. They're really very personable here. The outdoor seating area is quite pleasant, and the interior is tastefully decorated. The first time I went, I had the steak with Gorgonzola cream sauce. It was average at best. The next time, I had the Spaghetti Aglio Olio Con Pepperoncini. Amazing! So perhaps, my first take on the place was skewed by a not-so-Italian dish. After the second visit, I would definitely return.

We ate on the Monday before Christmas, most other restaurants in the area were closed and le relais could have done so but didn't. They could have had half a menu but didn't. I cautiously pick through a menu I should have dived into. each dish was amazingly prepared.

We popped back to Achouffe without dog, after having visited the day before without her (due to being on the brewery tour). We enjoyed our Chouffe beers and the service was excellent and very friendly. They made a fuss over our dog, with water and treats provided (it was nice that they asked our permission before giving our dog a treat). One of our part left their phone at the table, but one of the staff came after us with it, very much appreciated! Would definitely return to this lovely little hamlet and enjoy more of its hospitality. We espied the food being served. It looked very nice, with the rotisserie chickens looking very tasty indeed.

This new restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of our accomodation. The decor was very modern and the ambience buzzing. The place was clean and the staff welcoming. Food was nice- not amazing but pleasant all the same. It cost between 13.50 euros for a fish dish and 25 euros for a mixed grill, so was very reasonable. The service was unobtrusive to the point where we would have ordered coffees but they seemed reluctant to disturb us to ask if we wanted it and it was hard to catch the waiters eye.

Good selection of Chouffe beers, food was average and a tad expensive given what you got (we had the lunch menu). However if you're seated on the patio you'll have a nice view of the valley to keep you satisfied! If you had the lunch menu for 19.50€ with a soup , meat and an ice cream , I don't find that expensive for the region here .

We were disappointed when we received our burgers. In my opinion not well cooked, just a few vegetables. For this price I've eaten much better "gourmet burgers". The service was good and friendly, but toilets were dirty and no towels to dry hands.I expect better for "number two rated" in houffalize on TripAdvisor. Dear Goswin,I am so sorry not to see your review sooner!! I asume that the review from 28/6 is your friends. I am “glad” i at least know what the opinion is built on. Our burgers are day fresh every day. I will show this review to my cook. I am sorry to say i don’t have an instand sollution. But as i said to your friend i hope to make it up to you and your group. If you send me a FB message when you come i’ll make sure of it myself!Kind regards,Nathalie en Bas

Alleraardigst leuk restaurant.

Reviewed By NinjaNeko

We had made reservations for La Fleur de Thym (one day in advance was fine) for a Saturday evening. We had gone for a long hike in the Houffalize neighbourhood and I had taken a rough fall, so was in need for some relaxation! And we got lucky, as right behind us a large group with toddlers had come in but decided that it probably wasn't the right place for kids. And it's true, it's just one space and noise can build up fast, but that evening it was all good. The restaurant has the title of "Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe", and this is also reflected in the interior, it's young and trendy (I don't like the word but it does fit here) and a little fancy: glad I had changed out of my muddy boots and into a pair of heels... Right after entering there is a glass floor with view on the wine cellar, a great touch. Special shout-out to the very clean restroom facilities. There isn't much choice on a Saturday evening, you're basically limited to two fixed menus but that's what we usually go for anyway. We didn't opt for the matching wine, as the price seemed a little steep and we still had to drive home anyway. A nice bottle of red worked out cheaper even if we couldn't finish it off, and we didn't regret our choice. I also got a cocktail (a Hugo, I've had better) and my partner a glass of superb port.Inside the menu there is a notice urging you to mention allergies, but our waitress didn't seem to know what gluten was. Neither of us spotted anything obvious in the menu that would have gluten, but she didn't check with the kitchen either. And the first appetizer that was brought to us was homemade breadsticks... If the restaurant wants to make special efforts for people with food allergies (which appears to be the case judging from that notice) their staff should be knowledgable too.But no fretting, after that there were more appetizers, and the dishes got better and better. My boyfriend particularly liked one of the starters with lobster and scallops (served in a -trendy- bowl which was quite awkward to eat out of). We both really enjoyed the main course with game. On the side there were macarons with foie gras filling, and a single spectacular "i don't know how they got it to taste this great" mushroom (I could have finished a plate full of those!). But for me the best part was the dessert. We find this is usually not a particular highlight in fixed menus but La Fleur de Thyme is a big exception here. Ending the evening on a high note, we had a very good time (or thym - hohoho).
