Il Pelato is a small intimate restaurant located at the heart of Faaborg. The kitchen is a mix of the traditional Sicilian- and the classical Italian kitchen.
The food is delicious. We've ordered lasagne and bruschetta and tomatosalad as sidedish. It was served by a very friendly gentleman, the owner. We sertainly come back this holiday.

Called for lunch on a Monday lunchtime and got a table upstairs with a great view of the harbour. The waiter was efficient and friendly and it was quite busy for a weekday so had to wait for the food, but as it was freshly cooked it was delicious and a real treat.Everything in the Frokosttallerken was perfect, the fish, the meat, the ham and cheese in fact one of the best i have had for a long time. Will definitely go back if i am in the area.

On the recommendation of a Dane from Copenhagen that spends his holidays in Faaborg, we had dinner at the Hotel Faergegaarden, on the edge of the old town facing the harbor. It was an excellent choice, one of our best meals in Denmark. They have a prix fix gourmet menu with 2 - 4 courses (you choose). We went for three. The appetizer was asparagus with shrimp in a Remoularde sauce. Excellent. It was followed by a filet of veal in a wonderful pepper sauce. Superb. We had a very nice red Italian wine to go with it and we finished it off with a generous and interesting cheese plate. The service was friendly, informed and responsive. The room is dignified (without being stuffy), attractive and comfortable. If weâd had any appetite left weâd have gone for a dessert, but, alas, we were stuffed. Overall, it was dining at its best.

We actually stayed in the adjoining Hotel for my partners 40th Birthday, so were always going to dine here. The setting is nice and would think it is even nicer in summer given the grounds. The a la carte menu was good, but if you don't like what is on it, you have choice ! Unfortunately my partner didn't ! They did sort something out, but not after the waiter had took obvious offence to my partners simple vegetarian suggestions. Needless to say, this didn't go down too well and affected our overall enjoyment of the evening.I did, however have four courses and all were good, but nothing overly special.

We visited Faaborg in early September just at the end of the summer season, so not so many restaurants are open. This restaurant was busy and although the kitchen and waiting staff were under pressure, they were still friendly and efficient. There is a short menu and having seen that most people were ordering burgers, we did the same.My wife gad a breadcrumbed fried fish fillet and I enjoyed the Mexican spicy version. Both were extremely well cooked and ingredients were of a high standard with excellent fries, dill flavoured mayo and crispy bun.Not high end food, but enjoyable and by Danish standard reasonably God value for money. Recommended,

What a pleasant surprise. Having eaten here now 4 times I can say that you get very good value for your money. Good location, nice atmosphere, friendly service and great food.
The shop TallerkenGalleriet has existed since 2001 and is a small cozy shop with interior, delicacies, wellness products and much more. There is also a small café, where you can enjoy coffee, tea, cold drinks and some sweets. During the summer we sell ice
Super fint udvalg af gode øl. Fedt udvalg af blandet brugskunst, kaffe mv. En perle i Faldsled, som bestemt bør besøges hvis man er i nærheden.

Visit Helnæs or Helnaes, on the approach causeway (2km) to the island you drive over a small dike where it is very windy. On the Lillebaelt side you have lots of wave action but on the Fynen side you have a quiet lagoon with no waves but with lots of wind which is a favourite for windsurfers, paragliders, and folks who like todo tricks on boards. Arriving on the green island you note immediately the small roads, and the old fashion houses, and an old lighthouse.. The atmosphere is like old Denmark, quiet and villageish, serene, and no stress. The Old Inn (kro) is well worth a special trip, white linen, super service, good local food. However they are FAMOUS for their Fried Eel. Fresh local black Eel is made only the way the danes can do, with steamed spinach and cremed potatoes. For Eel lovers, this place is like coming to heaven, and the kro is just one of a very few places which make it right. The island and the kro is highly recommended for those who seek peace and tranquility in an old country atmosphere which is rapidly disappearing in Denmark. On the way visit some of the old palace estates, (slot) eat openfaced sandwiches from small stores along the road.Call them first to ensure they got fresh eel on the day you want to visit ...[---]
