We visit the Terranova a few times each year as we live locally. I last reviewed it in 2012 when I said a menu refresh was overdue. It still is!!!That said, food is well presented and good quality. Staff vary in their approachableness (occasionally a bit grumpy).Only real criticism would be that starters seem to arrive almost before the order gets taken to the kitchen!! A few minutes between ordering and eating would be nice - has happened on every visit!!! We don't want fast food!!!

Idyllically set between pretty houses and cottages around a beautiful English green, The Waggoners is a refurbished 17th century coaching inn serving unique and beautifully presented French cuisine, infused with international influences. Situated in Ayot
A family lunch with my brother and his wife was excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for Laurent and his staff. Two of us had the fish platter, really plentiful and tasty, those with a roast loved it. Accompanying wine chosen by Laurent was ideal. We will be back.

First, the positives. Busy and buzzy, even on a wet Tuesday night. Staff all very nice, balancing attentiveness with not being too intrusive. And probably the best steak had outside of London. Not US quality but good. The highlight though was the scallop starter!Steaks were well cooked though we found one steak a little tougher than we expected- even with steak knife a little difficult to cut in places. Chips were strangely hard to cut as well! And not cheap - 2 courses for 3 people was £200, with just a drink each. At that price point, I think we expected a little more to be honestIâd say definitely go but not sure weâd return.

When I first came to Welwyn Garden City, on my first day, I ate here and fell in love with the place. Last night, after doing some shopping, went to have something to ear. The food is still wonderful. The wine perfectly chilled. But...the service seemed to be poor and very disorganised, although every single one of their waitresses was polite and keen to do things well. The new manager walking up and down the place with his hands crossed over behind his back, observing all seemed to be the âman behind the changesâ. What a loss!

Wide ranging menu. Cafe in daytime - more of a restaurant at night. Particularly good for vegetarian food - many choices.
Really friendly staff, good service, excellent food at a reasonable price. Had a lite lunch of omelette and chips that was well presented with salad and coleslaw. Would recommend and will visit again

Tucked away inside the chic Beales Hotel in Hatfield, the Outsidein Restaurant is the perfect place for romantic rendezvous, discreet business dining or afternoon tea parties. Popular with glossy local gourmands and an international crowd, the dining room
This restaurant, part of Beales Hotel, was good overall. We went on a weekend just before Xmas so not perhaps the best timing and were surprised to find it almost deserted. Staff helpfully pointed out that a Weatherspoons had opened next door and many people apparently now dine there. Food was certainly better than a spoons, although perhaps not quite of the highest quality. The Vegan menu was pretty good and we got into a bit of a strange tangle about what Arancini are (ie. they brought us something else that wasn't the order) but this was soon resolved. Worth visiting, but perhaps better on Monday- Friday.Thank you for your review of Outsidein Restaurant at Beales Hotel.I am glad you enjoyed your visit in the main, but sorry that the restaurant wasn't busier. Yes, there is a Wetherspoons right next door, but the award winning AA rosette cuisine in Outsidein has nothing in common with this chain, and provides altogether a much higher standard. Head Chef Jamie Curtis and his team have a new menu out this January, and trade is picking up again this new year so do come and pay us a visit again when you are ready. We booked Auberge Du Lac after a friend had bought me a gift voucher for a 3 course lunch there. From start to finish the service was amazing & they went out of there way to help me as my leg was in plaster. All 3 courses were so delicious & we were also bought out bread & butter & some delicious canapés made by the amazing chef. We sat outside to eat to admire the view which was great apart from the wasps which isnât the restaurants fault. We would definitely recommend this restaurant & would definitely go back again. Hello 698lindsayrThank you for the glowing review and pleased to hear we have made a great impression! We will pass your comments to the team and we hope to see you again soon.Warm Regards,Auberge du Lac

Coming from Slovakia myself and knowing the way us Europeans cook, I was so exited to see this opening. Itâs a small cozy little restaurant with a sweet ambiance right in the centre of Hertford. Easily accessed and parking in Asda is brilliant. They always do set of the day for a week which brings about a breath of fresh air with such a small menu, nonetheless, like a taste of heaven. Iâve had many thins of the menu but barszcz (beetroot soup) has to be my favourite and you should definitely try it.Two adults eating soup and main each with a dessert, alcoholic drink and water = £30. Bargain.Cheesecake is to die for and at £7 for two the portions are massive and inexpensive.Best place is you want some nice hot food that is freshly made.A note to the kitchen: Dziekuje!!
