you come here for the atmosphere and the possibility to have normal local food. All this for a very OK price.

The dinner started with delicious 'amuses'. The lobster soup is excellent was nearly sufficient as a full meal considering the juicy pieces of lobster in it; a real treat. The white asparagus with either ham or salmon were great too. Friendly service, great value for money in a posh environment.

For the first time visited the relatively new Italian restaurant l'anima in Neerpelt. In an old villa with magnificent gardens we were treated a delicious 4-course menu. Hospitality of all personnel was great. Some of my guests preferred a different antipasta which was no problem at all. The explained all dishes as well as well as the origins of the wine in a clear and nice way. At the end of the evening the owner, with Italian Calabrese roots, came to visit every table and did some small talk. The total picture of food, hospitality, building, garden and the perfect pricing made it a joy for all of us. For certain we will come back to this restaurant

In passing we came across this quaint roadside restaurant and we enjoyed a lovely leisurely lunch, with excellent food, beautifully presented and served by efficient and friendly staff. Local meals and beers were the order of the day and we cannot fault this wonderful place to sit outside in the sun and watch the World slip by. There is inside eating too.

We stopped there for lunch. I had the panini Napoleon, and it was absolutely delicious. Possibly the best sandwich-type thing I've had in Europe. My husband had something with "Mexico" in the name - he knows better than to do that in Europe, and I'm sure for European tastes it is just fine. He was quite envious of me & my panini. The frites were great as well. The service was great, and it was a really nice atmosphere. We'll definitely go back if we're in the area again.

Situated in the very rural north-east of Belgium, this Trappist abbey is an undiscovered gem where people like to relax on the peaceful terrace tasting one of the four Trappist Achel beers. One can visit the abbey shop as well to discover & buy the worlds
After we went picking berries at the blueberry farm at Beverbekerdijk, just 20min away by bike, we dropped by the monastery for a refreshing trappist and a piece of pie. The weather was great, so there were quite some people, but service was quick and not that expensive. We enjoyed the local witte trappist and a prune pie, both as expected very tasty. Would like to come here again for a similar trip!

Very much enjoyed dining here. Excellent service, good Italian food and a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Credit cards not accepted but the owner kindly trusts his clientele to pay by bank transfer if they don't have enough cash. This kind of trust is rare to find these days. Bravo!
