this is a hotel restaurant, located in the main street at the town's entrance. The food was great, good ingredients and well cooked. The service efficient and friendly, also the staff are able to talk English.Prices are reasonable comparing what you get.To me, one big PRO is the terrace, on nice days, is pleasant to have a meal outside.

I gather this is where the locals go for a special occasion meal. The waitress was a little impatient when we asked what beer they had which didn't taste too bitter. When it was served it was too bitter for our taste. Rather than trying to find a salutation the beer was just taken away without so much of an apology. The salad that came with the Spaetzle was dripping in dressing, too much for my liking. The Spaetzle themselves were nice. As was the fish with asparagus and potatoes. The portions were too big for us to consider desert.

Probably the best venison we have ever had - perfectly prepared. Also the most tender light spaetzle. Our whole dinner was fantastic - the window view from our table, the service, all the courses. Dessert was a deconstructed Black Forest Cake. Very expensive but worth it.

A local bistro, serving good food for reasonable price.A lot of tables available, and beside the meals you can have fun, playing bowling or pool, are some of the options.

I've been to this lovely restaurant twice now since it reopened, once for an anniversary dinner and once for a tapas evening with my kids. The atmosphere is amazing, despite being well-visited the noise level was low, partly due to the set up of the sound-dimming ceiling especially put in for this reason. The restaurant is divided into two sections, the front being more of a wine and tapas area, although you can also eat here as I did with my children. The other half of the space is for the dining experience, with comfortable seating and tables spaced out more than in the tapas area. Be sure to make a reservation, as they are well-booked on most nights, and the tapas and bar area was completely full both times we came here.Their menu changes according to season, offering traditional Spanish dishes with a modern spin, and an extensive wine card. In fact, their main selling point is their wines. They have a very large assortment of Spanish wines, as well as some local German wines. As the service is excellent due to well-trained and experienced personnel, I have usually gone with the recommendations and have always been satisfied with these. Usually they have two menus for those who can't decide which of the delicious dishes to pick, a simple option which includes a starter, first dish, main dish and dessert. My kids and I had some tapas as starters, my daughter had a gambas plate but seemed more interested in my son's lemon risotto with bass filet. I tried the beef filet which was perfectly cooked, on a bed of Spanish pisto. If you can, try the desserts, the parfait with "maria" cookies is my favourite so far. I haven't tasted anything like it in another restaurant either. Granted, it's a little on the pricier side, but if you want to celebrate and treat yourself to something special, this is the place to go to.

We stayed here for 5 nights. The rooms are comfortable, but typical of a country public house (don't expect 5 star accommodation, but it is perfectly adequate). We were looked after extremely well by Simon and his staff, the breakfasts were very good and the meals in the restaurant are excellent. The restaurant menu is very good, but they also take pride in serving food in season. We certainly hope to return here one day.It is a good base for touring this area of Germany and is easy driving from Stuttgart and is also close to Rottenburg where there are some nice buildings. Note a couple of things for visitors, at the time of our visit, the restaurant did not open on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and the establishment did not take credit cards.

This place was great. They have all the classic German comfort food: schnitzel, spatzel, braten, and more. They allowed substitutions and customizations to our menu selections, don't be afraid to order off-menu. Servers were friendly and very attentive, great with our kids. We don't speak German and they spoke little English, but we managed to communicate effectively enough and everyone got what they wanted to eat. Definitely get a side salad with your meal. It was mixed greens lightly dressed but also had potato salad, cooked carrots, and some other odd toppings, surprising and very very good.
