New and elegant restaurant in the heart Gardabaejar. Good food, modern design and warm atmosphere. MORE INFO IN ENGLISH SOON
We were 6 person in the restaurant yesterday about 17.oo hour and the service was very bad. After we ordered shellfish soup and salat the waiter came with bread (6 slices) and told us that they didnt have any more bread. Strange..... this was in middle of the day and all night ahead. When he came with the soup plate there was very few shellfish in it and soup it self was just about 2 dl. After we finished we asked for more soup and more bread. The waiter told us that he would check..... Strange to say that. We got more soup not much and we got more bread. This "soup" was the most expensive I have ever paid for. The taste of the soup was good.

The supposedly healthy lunch buffet is mostly made up of carb-heavy foods, which are not matked in any way. Asking a waiter what meat was served only lead to a chain of people asking each other - finally, the 3rd person seemed to know it was lamb. The salads were either covered with dressing or with stuff like pasta. The waiters appeared to be doing their best to ignore anyone who was not a usual customer. The experience was not very pleasant (I did not feel welcome, almost as if I was intruding in someone else's party) and the food too expensive for what it was.Might be better for dinner - but skip this lunch buffet.

Home style restaurant. Family business. A cozy place with a view over the presidents residence.
Great little place in Alftanes. Everything tastes wonderful, super fresh, delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. Owner and wife are usually there, running the place. Every single thing we had there, including their pizza, coffee, bread and baked goods was simply outstanding. Great job, Alftanes Kaffi!

This restaurant may be quirky, may be in need of some attention, however the food and the service was great. Me and my son ate here for two nights in a row, and the staff were great. The head waitress took care of my son, and even showed him the parrot in the office. I had the icelandic dishes, and they were very tasty. The only disappointment was the fish starter, which was more of novelty than a meal. The lamb was very well cooked, and the sheeps head was done excellently. My son had the kids menu and the chicken and the burger were good portion sizes. When he did not eat his burger the waitress did ask if he wanted something else. I also have to say we turned up at 9:50 one of the nights and even though they were due to close they still look after us.

This house, known as A.Hansen house is of great historic intrest. Since its one of the oldest houses in the heart of Hafnarfjörður. The oldest house in town, the residance of noble Bjarni Sivertsen , now the towns museeum is adjuvent to A.Hansen and was b
Three of us had dinner and the meal, overall, was quite good. The lamb was tender, properly rare, and tasty. The whale steak was right on rare and, as the waitress advised, âsimilar to other red meatâ. (I thought close to bison.) The vegetables, especially the baked potatoes, were most interesting and flavorful. The disappointment came in the cheese platter. The cheeses had not been allowed to come to room temperature so their flavor was somewhat muted and some of the wedges were reminiscent of Bon Bel with a dusting of herbs. The atmosphere was very nice.

We dined at TILVERAN and were well pleased with the meal. The pan fried cod, with lobster, was outstanding; the fish was cooked to perfection. The plaice with lobster sauce also was excellent. A third choice, basically a pasta Alfredo (because that guest did not want the lobster chunks) was delicious and we all shared the tasty pasta and cream sauce, and brought home ample leftovers. The only downsides were: no bread offering at the outset or during the meal and no pepper on the table (but we found some on the bar).

Family run restaurant by the harbor In Hafnarfjordur city. - Icelandic cuisine, seafood. - Great cocktails and atmosphere. - 50 seat restaurant, reservations are recommended.
Loved this place! Excellent food and service in a restaurant with great ambiance. The mussel starter was delicious.... I was surprised it was served with boiled potatoes and lemon mayo. The fish of the day Cod was delicious and unusually (for me) served with carrots and beetroot. Not too overpriced for Icelandic standards. I would definitely come again.

Vidid and homely seafood restaurant by the old harbour in Reykjavik opposite the Maritime museum. Fresh fish is our game! Magnús Ingi Magnússon, chef and owner of Sjávarbarinn, also guides groups in a gourmet walk by the old harbour. He welcomes the group
We did not try the buffet instead we had the fish pan with langoustines. All main dishes came with the the buffet salad bar and cold dishes. There were 3 different fishes in the pan which taste good and reasonably fresh. The 2 fish pans were big we had trouble finishing them. The 4 langoustines are small but tasty nonetheless. The salad bar however was not the freshest some vegetable started to turn brown. Overall a good value
