Nice restaurant on the first floor with a view over the river Mümling. Michel's serves regional cuisine, including Schnitzel and game. The food was nice and the service attentive.

I was actually a bit dissapointed with the restaurant. The ambience is fine and in summer it must really be lovely to sit outside, no doubt. But, I would'nt go out of my way to visit the restaurant. If you are in the vicinity then It's ok.The menu was pretty small and not really appealing. Somehow they are trying to combine regionality with gourmet and this does not work out that well. Their winelist is also below average for a restaurant in this category. Most local wines from the Bergstrasse but this is not everyone's taste. The starter, I found was too pricey â¬15,-- for a minute chicken assortment. It did look pretty though.I had game for mains and the portion was very reasonable. The game cooked to perfection which was soft and moist. The gravy reduction was way to strong. Vegetables cooked to perfection as well. The service is very friendly and helpful.

Near the restaurant you can look at the ruins of an old castle! That is worth a look at! The restaurant is quite nice! You can sit outside and have a nice view or sit inside which is a more historic place! I prefer the terrasse! The food is good, you have a good choice! It tastes good too and is really cheap! Kartoffelpuffer(shredded potatoes) with salmon for only 4 euros!!!!!! Really worth a visit!

This restaurant is located in a nice country setting. But once you get inside Everything feels depressingly old.The decor, the furnitue and worst of all - the menu. It´s like choosing stright of of a meny from the 1960´s.And once you get the food it looks and tastes like something from the era.The guests were almost all very old , so maybe the restaurant has found the right touch, but...Service was slow and staff inattentive. The only modern bit was the price.

I went to 'Landgasthof Zur schonen Aussicht' for a family lunch on Christmas day and we were all very disappointed. We arrived quite early and not many other guests had already arrived. Our table was in the middle of the room, on the way to another room, so not very comfortable as people would keep passing around us. When we asked to have another table by the window, we were told that all other tables were booked. I understand that the restaurant was fully booked, but had ALL other guests requested the tables by the window? Usually restaurants give more choice to customers who arrive earlier... Then we were told that, contrary to what they had told us when we booked, there was no 'a la carte menu', only a buffet. Who would want a buffet as a special treat on Christmas day? If we had wanted that, we would have gone to a hotel. Unfortunately, the restaurant staff had failed to contact us in advance to let us know they had changed their minds and would only do a buffet. The food was ok, but nothing spectacular. Service was also ok, although we hardly had an apologise from the restaurant, saying that indeed they could have contacted us in advance for letting us know of this change. Also, the buffet amounted at â¬38 per person, which seemed way too much for the service and food we had. The only positive thing is that the atmosphere and decorations was nice and cozy. I would not recommend this restaurant, there are lots of other nice places with great food in the region.

We are spoiled in eating. For most guests it will be excellent. The service is correct and attentive. The gameweeks in october and november a worth to come for.Allthough you can diner at noon. You get more after 1700 hour. A greet from the kitchen, cloth napkins and candlelight. The price-quality ratio is very good.Their fresh smoked trout (really fresh so you must wait 25 minutes). The marronsoup with hare'knoedel'the raspberry gingerparfait and so on.

The picturesque little town of Michelstadt in the Odenwald is remarkably well provided with restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars. We liked the look of the Rathausbraeu. In keeping with the rest of the town it looked like a traditional German pub-restaurant. We sat down at one of the tables outside and were not disappointed. We had an excellent lunch there. The food is traditional German:we had a pork steak and a venison goulash and beer to drink. It was good value and service was good too. We would be happy to go back on a future visit.
