We went here following a business meeting, with our local host. The service was excellent throughout (helps to have a native speaker). The menu is great with some lovely fish and meat dishes (especially steaks). I had the lamb and it was superb! The wine list is very good too. The absinthe dessert was pretty special and kept me warm on the cold and wet trip back to my hotel. Definitely worth a try.

We came to discover this place and ordered the daily menu, it was ok but nothing really special...If you're in the area, why not otherwise not worth the visit. The service is very particular limit unfriendly...

My friends and I had dinner there on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was full so definitely need to reserve a table. I had the 3 course menu and it was delicious from start to finish. The beef was especially well cooked and the portions just right. Nice atmosphere and decor and the staff was professional. Would definitely go there again as a treat

You need to keep your eyes sharply peeled to find this minute cafe in the rue de la Plaine in Yverdon and also a strong sense of purpose to enter what, at first sight, seems to be yet another local bar.The decor is simplistic and basic but there is one intriguing oddity in the shape of a toaster on each table. One look at the menu explains the reason: the Cafe de la Plaine is a local mecca for lovers of tartare, of both meat or fish. This must be one of the widest ranges of tartare preparations in Europe, offering a staggering choice of different seasonings, using either beef, horsemeat, fresh or smoked salmon. For the ditherer, there is also the possibility of taking two half-portions, for example one beef and one salmon. Before the arrival of your choice, a basket with slices of fresh toasting bread is delivered and so you can prepare your own toast and eat it at the temperature which you prefer. The dish is complemented by a side salad and a cornet of matchstick fries. For those who do not like eating raw food, there is a choice of cooked meats, including an entrecote with Cafe de Paris garnish. The price of the tartares is about CHF 30 and the half-and-half platter costs 34. One main is quite filling, so there is no real need for a dessert but an excellent coffee does not go amiss. The restaurant is tiny with about 8 tables altogether. Until more people read this review, booking is not necessary but could be precautionary! All food is prepared to order and the quality of the beef is outstanding. Beef entrecote is certainly more flavoursome than fillet. The seasonings cover many areas of then world, so be prepared to be impressed and challenged.

We have been there twice, always happy with the food and the service we received. Meat quality was excellent, and the foie gras with caramel sauce was absolutely divine. One of the best restos we have tried. Service is good, the place is very clean, highly recommended.

On the docks of Grandson. A very good restaurant that has been recognized by the Gault Millau guide. It's a bit gastronomic so the prices are above the average. Our plates were very good and we will visit them again. And the fact that you're on the lake just adds value to it. As you can then digest walking on the docks. The decoration is very eclectic with a big black horse in the middle of the room. To be viewed.

Honey-based drinks and even 'pizza' topings are nice. The staff is very friendly, and medieval. Small tables though. Thanks you very much to your visit !

Le Pecos a Grandson - Un restaurant au bord du Lac de Neuchatel pour profiter des beaux jours. Temporairement ferme pendant l'hiver. Reouverture des le printemps!
We went there on a friend's recommendation and were not disappointed. We were lucky to find an empty table at Sunday lunch-time on the terrasse where we had a nice view on the neighbouring park and the lake whilst being well protected from the sun under a large parasol. I had a mixed salad, perch filet and french fries (home-made and served twice if you are still hungry!) and my wife had beef filet with the same side dishes and we were both very content. The service was friendly and efficient in spite of the fact that it was very busy and the prices are very reasonable for such quality.

Very good food , limited menu in the evening - 3 of the main dishes offered were fish. Quality can not be faulted , service is good if a little stiff and formal and the atmosphere and interior of the restaurant is somewhat sterile and not up to the standard of the cuisine. The pictures on the walls should be replaced please.!! Definitely worth trying but the pricing is not inexpensive about CHF 120 - 130 per person. The evening we were there it was really quiet and therefore unexciting which removes some of the enjoyment one might have if it was nearly full and buzzing. However the food is good enough to ensure the survival and continued existence of the restaurant where the wife Maryline is the chef creating some noteworthy dishes.

Finally, fresh food done well and reasonably priced in Switzerland,. Chef Christian Wiehe creates an abundance of flavors worth the trek up the hill from Yverdon les Bains to the Castle in Grandson. The outside terrace is divine. Our last lunch featured an apple upside down tort to die for.
