We went there on Sunday last. Small restaurant, interesting menu and the Specials were worth a look. Wine list had some lovely options and we went for a Saint Estephe although we rarely drink French wine.Crab starter, cloud cheese starter both excellent. I had the monkfish special - my wife had the oven cooked Cod. It was probably the weaker of the two dishes but generous. Cranberry and orange cake plus strawberry torte to finish.Confident food preparation - really enjoyed our night. The romantic element was funny. Every table had a light which could be switched on or off. At one stage I was looking at my wife lovingly and had my hand across the table for hers and she missed it. When she realised she went omg and I turned the light off as âromanceâ had died.We have been laughing ever since. Go there - you will enjoy it :)

Open fire's and cozy snugs await you .Locally sourced food from our award winning menu are on offer daily in the shadow of Croagh Patrick on the shores of Clew Bay. Come and visit
We recently spent 10 days in Ireland and I had the opportunity to experience seafood chowder at many locations including Dromoland Castle, Ashford Castle and at various restaurants and pubs; so the competition in comparison was high. The Tavern had the perfect blend of a great base and plenty of stock in the chowder. The taste was rich and it appeared as if I never ran out of fresh seafood in the bowl. Kudos to the chef! I'll come back here on my next trip to Ireland.Dear John W.What praise!!!! and to be mentioned within a very impressive list. Our chef is singing your comments from the roof top. Thank you so much for the lovely review. Hope it won't be too long before we offer you another tasting.....Kind RegardsRuth

We popped iin here on the off-chance after cycling the Greenway (also recommended). Although small, we were early, at 5.30, so they quickly found us a table for 4. What a treat. My wife always has a carbonara, whenever she tries a new Italian restaurant, so uses this as a benchmark of quality. This was 5 star. I has a special lamb in balsamic dish , which was lovely. Everything we had, between 4 of us, was excellent - reserving special mention for the burrata (exceptional) and the fig salad with a cheese I wish I could remember (outstanding). Don't expect pizza - they don't do them. Instead, enjoy great Italian food, a good selection of wines and beer, and excellent, friendly staff. One of the best Italian restaurants we've been to. A reason to visit Westport, despite the traffic!

We are a casual restaurant serving good food at reasonable prices. Our focus is on small and sharing plates.
We chose the â¬19.95 menu because the options were excellent, arranged by sea, land and earth the advise is to select two dishes from land or sea and effectively your side dish from earth. What could be simpler? Well the selection made limiting your choice to two very difficult. Portions are large enough to allow the table an opportunity to taste your choice. Everything was well presented and very tasty. The wine was well priced and as the driver the Seedlip alcohol free g&t was very refreshing. Service was professional, well informed and friendly. The only negative is the high ceiling which can make this lovely restaurant quite noisy. Itâs deserving reputation mean a return visit is only a matter of time. The prawns, duck bao bun and chicken wings were excellent and the mac and cheese was a meal in itself.

Kellyâs Kitchen is an award winning café in Newport town, near Westport, in the heart of the Great Western Greenway. Located at the top of the Main Street beside the family butcher shop; Kellyâs of Newport. â Call in for the excellent cooking, home baking
One of my highlights of visiting Newport is always a trip to kelly's kitchen where the combination of delicious homemade food and the warm and friendly faces of the amazing Shuana and Martin always leave me stuffed and smiling. I would highly recommend their delicious salad with candid walnuts or their kellys black pudding washed down with a slice of home baked cake and a pot of tea.

We were driving along the coast and stopped in at the Tea Room at Belleek Castle in Ballina, County Mayo. It is in an attached building on the side of the Castle and it is very attractive. We had excellent Cappuccini there! It was sunny and we leisured there a bit looking out at the courtyard. We walked through a bit of the hotel and saw the room that was salvaged from an Armada ship. It was very interesting to see! The staff was very nice.Dear Bourlingueur60,Thank you for taking your time to leave us feedback of your visit to the Jack Fenn Cafe. It is a pleasure to hear you enjoyed your visit. The cafe has such a lovely atmosphere and what better way to enjoy a sunny day than relaxing in our courtyard.I do hope you have a chance to visit again in the future perhaps for an overnight stay, a guided tour of the castle or even a dining experience in The Library Restaurant.Warm Regards,Shannen

We were a family group of twelve on a Friday night for dinner. The ambiance is lovely helped by the courtyard entrance. The attentive and friendly service added greatly to our enjoyment. The special birthday treat for our son arranged at very short notice on a busy night was most appreciated. The food is delicious and yes the portion sizes are hearty and god value! The house wine was delicious and very reasonably priced. Thanks to the Dillon's team for looking after us and we look forward to returning when next over the West.

Dining Room is a quaint Modern Irish Restaurant, set in the Heart of Castlebar.
My husband and I had an amazing 3-course meal here. Everything from start to finish was so tasty and well-prepared. Lots of the ingredients are locally sourced as well, which is great for our local producers. No gimmicks here, just great quality ingredients, cooked properly. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu, polite and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant itself is on the small side so itâs worth booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and service - probably not somewhere we will visit every week, but we will definitely be back to treat ourselves!
