The vineyards that bear the fruit of Idiom are called “Da Capo” which means “from the beginning” or “from the Cape” in Italian, a reference to the fact that the vineyards were carefully laid out and planted on the farm for the first time in 1999.We Opened
Idiom has a great setting with stunning views. We'd visited before for a wine tasting, so thought we'd celebrate our anniversary there, for a Saturday lunch. I'd booked for three, and had received an sms confirmation of the booking, so was rather surprised when our booking wasn't on the list. However, staff found us a table and we ordered. I had a glass of prosecco (lovely) but my husband had a R90 glass of Idiom Cab Sav, which he didn't enjoy at all. Our guest (an Italian) ordered the house wine. The 5 main courses on the menu didn't appeal to our guest, so he ordered a pizza; I had the pork belly and my husband had the steak. My pork belly was chewy, and the 'lentil stew' was bland and appeared to have just come out of a can. My husband had to request a sharp knife to cut his steak, but once that had been brought, he liked the steak and the roasted chickpeas that came with it. Our guest had to beg for some flavouring to put on his pizza - he said it was tasteless and that the dough (which was flaky at the edges) was all wrong. Obviously, the chef believes that his food doesn't need salt, pepper, or anything else so none of these were provided unless asked for. The desserts were good, but for a bill of over R1,200 (and not even a bottle of wine) I have to wonder whether Idiom is just relying on their venue to please the guests. I certainly wouldn't go back for a meal.

Im Emier brings German dining to you with traditional German dishes such as Currywurst, Eisbein and a variety of different schnitzels. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere with a large fireplace inside for those cold winter evening and a great beer garden fo
A very rustic restaurant and pub just out of town. Not a spot you will find – or go to easily, but friends recommended this and we had to investigate. Small inside seating area with a larger outside (under cover) area. Great selection of local and imported beers on tap. Jovial atmosphere with live music. Although we did not have a meal, the food looked great and we will definitely be back to try the Eisbein and some of the other German dishes on offer.

Walking into Henri's, you will be greeted by the owner and the staff who will treat you like guests in their own home.Henri's is conveniently situated on Somerset West's Main Road in a heritage building that has been renovated into a spacious contemporary
We like the unpretentious setting, atmosphere and decor of Henri's. Plus the fact that the food is consistently good, so it's never a difficult choice when we decide on the spur of the moment to go out instead of eating in. Henri's is a mainstay in the town, and his solid reputation is well-earned. Thank you for making a effort to give us such a great review. Hope to see you soon.

I cannot tell you how lovely this restaurant is, you just have to go and experience it yourself...The atmosphere is amazing.. food is delicious, tasty and something very different...all the dishes are made with pride..staff are super friendly..Best cocktails but they are pricey..Food is a bit expensive but worth it.. they do serve dishes like steaks, sushi and fish dishes but also have Belgium dishes too.....Family owned restaurant and you can tell the owners are proud of their little gem..Restaurant is classy..if you want to just have a drink or sundowners and watch the sunset then this is the place.. sit on the veranda outside and watch the sea and sunset.. really pretty.. nice place to go on a date.. I cannot help myself when i am in Strand to just go in and have cocktail or glass of wine..not really a place for small little kids as there is no play area but if you have a baby sitter then the beach is right opposite the road..inside the restaurant is lovely ambience..has that casual romantic feel..Very clean too...If you are Belgium or French or German then you will feel at home..I love this restaurant in summer time ...has a festive vibey feel..One awesome rule they do have that keeps their standards high is No Shirt or Shoes then No service....so you can dress casual or smart but remember shoes, sandals and shirts and tops...

If you want the best of what the Cape can offer, look no further than Camphors. Set on a most beautiful Wine Estate amidst the trees and a gently flowing river it is difficult to find a place that is more chilled. The atmosphere is complimented with an exquisite wine pairing and exceptional dishes. The Chef should have a spot on the Netflix Chef's Table and the service levels round off a great experience. Winter or summer take the trip.We appreciate the great review! The Camphors Team are on their annual break but will be back in action again from 20 June 2019. We look forward to your ongoing dining adventures at Camphors.Kind regardsSharon Hosking

Fine dining in the heart of the winlelands with spectacular views over False bay . Lunch Monday to sunday 12 to 2 pm . Dinner monday to saturday 7 pm to 9 pm
We visited this fantastic scenic restaurant from the year it was opened and had this year again a fantastic evening there. We all have chosen the tasting menu , 8 courses and another four amuses. i will not elaborate about the different courses as they change it regularly. But the way it was served and the quality of all of them was perfect. When you are in the region do not forget to go here.
Best Icecream in the country. Various flavours softserve, cones and frozen yogurt. Enjoy an icecream with the ocean and mountains surounding you with one of the best views in the world
An outing to the beach is not complete unless you have bought an ice cream. The trick is to eat it before the base of the cone disintegrates and the sun melts it! After making our choice of flavours from the large selection on offer, we sat on the porch of Uncle Barry's and licked and slurped our way through the ice cream cone... still managing to make a mess in the process... but was it worth it? A resounding YES!

we had a great time. food was good o general Although starter of mussels was top notch. very attentive manager Checked with us several times... we had a little event with our bill which left us wondering .we will tell you as a cautionary tale. our bill added up to About 700 rands with service, which we paid in cash. my husband got the bills, counted. gave them to me, I double checked. handed to the waiter. he ran after us and claimed we had given him 6 x100bills and 1 10 rands bill instead of 7× 100 rands. we felt quite embarrassed and confused and handed him another 100 rand bill. at that moment we were rather preoccupied with sth else so thought nothing of it. later, tho, hubby said: look at these bills, tho we are foreigners and all, they are not that easy to confuse... both the Color and size are completely different... we double checked... so basically not accusing anyone but I would make sure I counted the bills in front of the Server before leaving this ( and after this even any) restaurant.
