We needed to stop for a spot of lunch , this was the ideal place situated on the main piazza its great for people watching , we just wanted a light lunch so we had the melon and ham , it was a large portion and was great .Can thoroughly recommend

Located right on Lake Garda, this restaurant serves wonderful fresh dishes and lake fish.Adriano, the owner is the most superb host.No trip to Lake Garda would be complete without a visit here

The wonderful building,with its beautiful decor,paintings,Lakeside views and tranquil environment,is justly famous. The staff are perfect and those two factors deserve their 2 stars. Sadly,the food is simply average,lacking flavour,delicacy and style. Real Italy has left the kitchen,and a bland dullness overpowered the food.The wine list is encyclopaedic,the staff of the highest standard and most courteous. Given the low food standard-the Michelin inspector who gave 2 stars is manifestly not fit for purpose-there is very poor value as the pricing assumes a quality that is not there.This old lady is living on her laurels and needs a serious culinary shakeup.

Beautiful Italian restaurant, with a quiet garden at 10 meters from the lake: a wide choice of fish plates but you can order the meat as well.The fisrt time choose "Menu Degustazione" and you'll be able to have a complete choice of what Italian cuisine can offer with fish, especially lake fish.Also the price is very honest!

If you want a meal in Gargnano look no further. Whether inside or outside the restaurant has the perfect setting, truly incredible food (the risotto was incredible as was the local white fish as was the tiramisu!!!) and outstanding/friendly service. The food was truly excellent- taste, presentation, slight twist: it had it all. Philip, who runs the place, is passionate about delivering an outstanding experience on every count and he has delivered. Look no further. Aeolus is really good value given how top rate it is. This is a very high and strong recommendation.

We were staying at a hotel nearby and decided to try the restaurant at Lefay. It is in a large room (too large) and feels a bit convention like, despite a lot of effort to make it look cozy. Our meal was very good, but also extraordinarily expensive.We had a nice evening but I wouldn't return.

We were staying nearby and came across the restaurant while buying our afternoon gelato by the Lake in Gargnano. As we don't eat meat we noted some options we could choose from, so returned for the evening. There were a couple of veggie options as well as fish. We shared a starter of puff pastry with carrot mousse which was unusual. My husband had the pesto lasagne which was very tasty. I had the sea bass, presented in a tied sellophane parcel that kept it very moist and flavoursome along with a glass of prosecco and a great view of Lake Garda. A very enjoyable evening

Our b&b owner recommended this beautiful little restaurant in Gargnano. We arrived quite early and were greeted with a warm welcome from the owner/chef. Every single aspect of the service was flawless. We were very much looked after. The food was beautifully cooked, we enjoyed it so much we came back the day after. I would recommend this place 100%, it's quite difficult to find but worth it when you do. Don't miss out!

Due to our late arrival at this hotel, we decided to eat in the restaurant that evening, also because the reviews were very favourable. We were assured in advance that although we were mostly vegetarian but ate some fish we would be catered for in this respect. So we were initially surprised by the lack of choice, no special veggie option, only a spaghetti Napoli and only one starter of spring vegetable broth which in our opinion, was just pesto flavoured water with a few tomatoes and peas thrown in. We chose sesame crusted sea bass for mains but this was tasteless. The grilled vegetables were inedible as the aubergine was undercooked and therefore tough. Also the vegetables served with the main were cold and the potato 'mash' was a tiny spoonful of puree. This is a very expensive restaurant and has a good reputation so this is why were were so disappointed. The meal was returned to the kitchen but did not come back any better. We received no apologies and therefore decided to eat elsewhere for the rest of our stay. I have reviewed the hotel separately.Dear guest,We are deeply sorry to read your review. We think your dissatisfaction with our cuisine was due to the fact that you arrived quite late and that the kitchen was already technically closed. We wanted to meet you halfway but with an obviously smaller choice of menu. We apologize because, by your review on our hotel we saw that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Sostaga. We had a dinner in this Michelin 1 star restaurant, the entree and main course were heavenly. We had their lamb dish which was that tastefull that I would go back for it if it was not that far away from our home (1000 km).
