Discover Restaurants offering the best European food in Frederikshavn, Jutland, Denmark. This bustling transport hub, site of the terminal for ferries to and from Norway, is a city of 25,000. Primarily a hectic ferry port and shopping pit stop, it's popular with Swedes and Norwegians, who visit to stock up on appealingly priced meat and alcohol. If you miss your ferry or tire of edible and potable on-shelf options, visit Bangsbo Museum, an open-air attraction full of 18th-century buildings, 14th-century ruins, antique farm equipment and handicrafts created from hair and WWII relics.

Hyggelig Café i Strandby, hvor friske råvarer og god service er det vigtigste. Vi har åbent fra marts til og med oktober.

Make no mistake this is a very simple place, situated in the harbour area. Looks like one of the numerous grills that have mushroomed all over the country, mainly serving hot dogs and fries. But the food was delicious, obviously home made from fresh products. Can recommend the fried fish fillet on a piece of rye bread, and the apple pie.

There is an air of commercialism about this place which is a little offputting. But there is an amazing array of seafood dishes and assorted salads, about everything you could wish for. The service was overworked but luckily you do not need much to help yourself at a buffet. The view is pleasant and on the day we went mid week in May it was not too crowded. There is an elevator to the floor and a handicap WC as well.

Great location, peaceful atmosphere, friendly service and delicious beef. Aberdeen-Angus beef topped with truffle sauce was just excellent. Exciting menu, but I never enjoy seeing crocodile on the menu.If visiting Sæby, its´definitely worth locating this hidden gem. My best meal in 2017. No doubt.

Good food but I was struggling with the service. It was very stand off-ish and we had a feeling of disturbing the staff. We spent quite a bit of money and the servings we got was very well executed. Frederikshavn is a small town trying to attract tourists. I feel they should try harder to deliver a good service. If this is successful, I think it could be an up and coming place

There is no doubt that Gratværk is the new No. 1 restaurant in Frederikshavn! We had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant for dinner, and had the 3-course set menu - food was excellent and the prices very reasonable. The restaurant is very small but cozy and inviting.Although the restaurant was full, and it seemed as if only two employees were around (the owners?), they managed a great and enthusiastic service.

Upon arrival at Frederikshavn our hotel recommended Frida on Havnegade 5 for a quick lunch. The restaurant offers an all-you-can eat lunch buffet (‘Frokost Buffet’ in Danish) for 79 Danish crowns, served from 11.30 am till 2.30 pm. Not exactly health food, but tasty nonetheless. Drinks are not included and are comparatively expensive (33 crowns for a small beer), but our total bill was still very reasonable. There is an outside seating area, but the interior looks nicer.

What a delight and hidden gem in the pedestrian street of Frederikshavn! We came for a day visit with the ferry from Oslo. Having lived in Copenhagen years ago, i always had the soft spot for danish lunch. This restaurant took it to another level! Best sandwiches i ever had; We tried the «tartar,» «roastbeef» and «lun leverpostej.» Blown away! The Tour Guide at the harbour said this place was very «upscale» and expensive. The prices are more than fair. I also disagree with «upscale.» it was just a place to come, feel welcome and just enjoy a magic monday!Feel alive!

This cozy corner cafe has delicious sweets as well as a full line of coffee drinks (and maybe wine/alcohol- I had coffee and didn’t notice). They serve salads, sandwiches and other food too. They have a piano and while they weren’t playing music while we were there, I’m assuming it’s there for a reason. The owners are super nice. There is a wide array of cookbooks there in multiple languages to browse through while enjoying your drink.
