We just dropped here spontaneously for lunch. We had veal sausages with truffels taste and deer. The food was awesome, served together with very interesting dips and nice extras like hone made spatzle or roasted potatoes. The servants were nice and cheerful. We will back again definitely.

Dont be fooled by the tiny entrance under the huge clock tower. The food and service is commendable, although its slightly on the higher side. They have a bar downstairs and the stairs lead us up to the formal dining area. We found the service to be a bit slow after our drinks arrived, but we werent in a hurry anyway.

We have been here several times, and were never disappointed. All the usual Italian treats are on the menu, and some fantasy pizzas. Service is a bit slow, so allow plenty of time. Good value for money.

Amazing stuff, delicious and fresh meals, great fisch, quick and professional. Must have.We have choose this place for a lunch after Tripadviser reading - only that we can say, it was unexpactable great time there. The young man (sadly can not remember the name) is one of the best waiters which I ever saw.

This is the kind of charming, friendly, famil-run hotel that one dreams about. Reck's is located in Salem, about a 10 minute drive from Lake Constance and we chose it because we were travelling with our two dogs. We were allocated a spacious and comfortable room on the ground floor that opened out directly onto a terrace and the lovely hotel gardens, with views over the surrounding countryside. The dogs were in heaven, and so were we! Reck's restaurant has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its locally sourced ingredients and cooking. We had two terrific dinners and the breakfasts were outstanding. However I would also strongly recommend Reck's as a place to stay. The delights of Lake Constance are easily accessible, while the rural location is peaceful, untouristy and lovely (scattered with lakes, hopfields and vineyards and endless cross-country walking paths). All in all, Reck's is a gem: the complete antithesis of large, corporate and touristy hotels. The service was exceptional â friendly, warm and knowledgeable, and every aspect of rooms and restaurant were totally professional.

Simple, big portions, fast service... A bit warm location. Tasty food, oddly combined menu. The restaurant is well visited by locals . The decoration is well done. If you want a restaurant with a easy going feeling, with simple but tasty food, that's your place

Six of us ate here the night we arrived from the Seattle. We were tired and very hungry. We went here upon a recommendation from the hotel receptionist and she did good. This was a fantastic introduction to the cuisine of the region and German hospitality in general. My command of the German Language remains minimal but was unneeded here. The manager described each dish and was very tolerant of questions. Most of us had a daily special of special locally made sausages with sauerkraut. Excellent. We were full but just had to have some apple strudel. We hav no trouble finishing those plates! If you visit Markdorf I recommend Schwanenstuble.
