Dined here and thoroughly enjoyed the very French menu. Beautifully cooked and presented food and some lovely wines to accompany the choices. The continental breakfast selection was also very good. Worthy of a visit just to enjoy the dining but the hotel is also very good if you can stay.

We had dinner at Moulin de la Coudre during our holiday. The food was really plain, borderline greasy. For the same price in that area you can have a far better meal. The lady owner was pleasant, the waiter a lot less. Talking to my wife who is French, he made a few rude comments..when asked if we could put the bill on our room, his answer was "of course, as it 's how it works"!Chers Clients,Nous sommes navré que le paleron de Veau sauce pinot noir ne vous ai pas plu, effectivement il peut y avoir un petit peu de gras mais cela fait parti de la viande. En ce qui concerne le serveur nous sommes désolé de son attitude, sachez que nous lui avons notifié votre mécontentement et espérons que cela ne se reproduise plus, merci de cette remarques afin d'améliorer la qualité de l 'accueil de notre clientèle.CordialementAlexandra

Great food and amazing service in this new restaurant set in a historic converted cellar. Fresh produce and great value local wines. Definitely worth a visit whether a romantic meal, families or groups.

Good value no frills dining in the centre of Chablis. Large covered outside seating areaGood range of food to include huge pizzas. Good value. Bar attached and lots of locals seem to visit here. This place feels very 'real' and not just there for tourists, which is great.

Visiting Daniel-Etienne Defaix's restaurant, La Cuisine Au Vin, on May 8, 2012, was a unique pleasure. I've enjoyed many French, Italian, and Californian vineyards' restaurants and caves; this is among the best. We made it a special side trip on our way to Vézelay. Go there. It was notable to be personally welcomed by the owner who then introduced us to each of his very professional staff. We had a very instructional wine tasting by Ken; I learned very much about vineyards' history and wines. The wines were wonderful. If I was not leaving Paris the next day for Prague, I would have certainly purchased a case like my friends did. Thank you so much, Ken, for making it a truly memorable cave visit. Your suggested side trips were very kind and thoughtful. We had time only for the Aire des Clos, the Foret Communale de Chablis - but what a remarkable vista!! The sun was shining brilliantly the whole time on the outlook. Gorgeous! Thank you so much for taking the time to show the driver the precise route. There was a torrential downpour five minutes after we got into the car to continue our roadtrip :))The restaurant staff was very knowledgeable, precise, and courteous. The meal was Fabulous !! Pierre Labalette is a great chef. We did the four course prix fixe with wines, and were glad that we did. It was a good value. The recommended wines were wonderful. We lingered and appreciated the waiter's precision and sommelier's expertise.I sincerely look forward to a return visit.Doug Holtquist, New York City

... La Syracuse restaurant was a lunch stopover in the charming village of Chablis, France. This was our first time to cruise thru Chablis and actually find a parking place right on the main street! We ambled to the restaurant, which has a charming courtyard set with tables and a lovely interior in which to dine as well. Since it was glorious weather, we chose a table outside. Our server was a cheerful young man who brught us a delicious glass of icy cold Chablis to sip while we perused their menu. I decided on a small pizza and Gerry had a fish dish and a salad, which we shared. Both dishes were great... no complaints here. We finished with a shared piece of an apple tart and coffee. I definitely recommend dining here any time of day! We will stop here again when we are looking for lunch in Chablis! Judi Dunn, Tallahassee, Fl.

Thursday 21st June 2018. Dinner for 2. Everyone was sitting outside in the pretty courtyard, but in spite of it being June it was pretty nippy - so don't forget a sweater - Chablis is quite far north so can get chilly in the evenings even in Summer. Friendly service and decent bistro food. My starter of snails in garlic butter was WOW! My wife liked her parma ham with melon. Sea Bass with mash and veg was delish. Risotto with 3 different fish also good. Creme brulee overcooked (the only dud). Decent place for a casual meal out in Chablis.

Main Hotel des Clos restaurant closed which was a great shame as they advertise it as open all 7 days! Worth checking before you book hotel as Bistro is poor by comparison, but our only option!Bistro was quite busy for obvious reasons. Great value Chablis Premier Cru which off-set the average food. The pork dish turned out to be ham in a tomato sauce and the chocolate fondant was solid. Tomato & langoustine starter would have been better had the tomatoes been fresh and the fish in a curried sauce didnât work.

We stopped here for lunch on a weekday and were enchanted by the warm welcome - and loved the modern interior of the old house bridging the river. The lunch menu was delicious, and the waiter's suggestions for wines by the glass to accompany it perfect. The restaurant was full, turning away guests without reservation - so call ahead. During our visit the other visitors seemed to be local professionals and families.

We had a superb lunch here from the menu du jour on a Friday. We found the food to be a wonderful use of French ingredients but with a lightness and delicacy that certainly owes something to the chefs' Japanese backgrounds. We were so impressed we came back again on the Saturday, for the regular menu, and were just as delighted - rare to find a restaurant that can thrill you two days in a row. We live in Burgundy ad were interested to find the lighter takes on Burgundian favourite dishes, alongside some wonderful fish dishes. Service was friendly and very efficient, and overall a great experience. One note of caution - make sure you book! The restaurant is small and very popular.
