After having to wait more than an hour to have a table, being passed over by other customers, without having a word to explain why we were over looked. Asked for a drink whilst waiting, bearing in mind we have a 3yo child, and we were told we had to pay before hand...After complaining, we managed to get sat, having to wait another hour to get our food to the table. From no tomato sauce in our pizzas to having to wait for drinks to come one by one and a carbonara without sauce and only a few, really just a few, bits of ham, not a place to return!!This place needs to improve their service and attention to customers!One way or another, weâre all customers at some point.Dear Sir,We have investigated your complaint thoroughly by discussing the matter with our staff. We also read your complaint in our Livro de Reclamações to obtain the full picture of what happened. We do not write this response to apologize, but to address and clarify the matter for other TripAdvisor members.You wanted to have lunch on the busiest weekend of the year with a party of 9 persons and one 3 year old child. In this high season we do not accept any reservations, so your group had to wait in line amongst other customers. We do registrate all waiting groups by name or phone number in order to call them sequential as soon as a table is available.Due to the fact that you are with a total of 10 persons, it is operationally very difficult to arrange suitable space and seats immediately. If tables for 2 or 4 persons get available before your turn AND these tables are not next to each other, other small groups will enter before you. BUT as soon as we have enough space available, we will call you to have a seat. According to your complaint sheet this took 40 minutes in total standing in line and not the here above written 1 hour. We do not serve drinks in the queue without payment. We have bad experiences from the past by people walking away without payment.We do recognize that you probably were a bit agitated from waiting in line, being passed by other clients without being notified. Again it was the busiest weekend of the year, which is not an excuse, but just a simple fact. We cannot answer to your complaint regarding the lacking of tomato sauce on the pizza or the very small amount of sauce on the pasta. This is totally your own opinion, which contradicts about 90% of very satisfied customers.The Management

The food and service here is ok, but nothing special, especially compared to other places in the Alentejo region. We got charged for bread, cheese, pate and butter that we didnât order - it was brought to our table but made out to be complimentary. The portions are large, but its just not that great.

Excellent fresh grilled fish spot ( or meat, if thatâs your choice ) with all-around competent staff, but itâs growing to be a little bit pricy and overcrowded as fame settles in. And these were, basically the reasons why I didnât give it a 4 âdotsâ review. Still, a place to go.

A sala não é nada de especial, nada haver com uma marisqueira. O atendimento para além de muito demorado é pouco simpático e nada profissional. Pedidos um Travessão de marisco pra 4, a santola estava salgada e muito lÃquida, a sapateira nunca tinha comido nenhuma tal má, ameijoas só comi uma tinha mais sal do que 1 kg de sal, os pecebes foram os únicos que se safaram embora sejam muito pequenos, as gambad nem sequer tive vontade de provar. Enfim.... a não voltar.

Great staff, delicious food, fantastic view. Our only regrets were stopping here for lunch instead of dinner (as we wouldâve had bigger appetites to fully indulge), and not finding this restaurant sooner. We were just pleased to find somewhere serving traditional Portuguese food, instead of a pizzeria, however we were so pleased with the service, the food, and the reasonable value. It is a smart, well kept restaurant, but with a relaxed atmosphere and an amazing view over the hills. Iâm ashamed to say our Portuguese is appalling, but the staff spoke perfect English and were very accommodating, so despite being abroad and slightly lost, we were still made to feel at home. A tiny place in a small traditional alentejo village with the best local food and excellent service. Casual dining outside or inside, very friendly staff and not expensive. We had goat's fresh cheese with ripe tomatoes and basil in balsamic vinegar (I wish we had asked for two), beef and lagartos de porco with homemade chocolate mousse as desert! Yum!!

The menu has some interesting typical dishes but, other than that, the place is not worth the visit. The service was a mess, taking too long to answer the requests and the food taking too long to be served. Granted it seemed like they had more guests than usual and more than the number of servicers could answer in a proper time; but a restaurant must be preperad for the number of tables it has. The food is not bad but it's far from great and a bit too "oily".

I'm really struggling for words with this place. It's in a beautiful location but the food was SO basic and laughably expensive. We waited for 15 mins to be asked for our order, when we mentioned we hadn't been offered a menu yet the waitress said "oh there's no menu, we just have two dishes, chicken leg with Vietnamese sauce and codfish with egg".. ok... so we took one of each. The chicken was so basic. Two legs of chicken with a side salad drizzled with a spicy sauce. A 5 year old could've made it. The codfish was an improvement but so small we were both still pretty hungry. The desert was polenta, adequate but again hardly breaking boundaries. I then had a coffee, which was served cold. All of this came to â¬96. We laughed as the bill was presented. I asked to speak to the manager, Tiago, to offer some constructive feedback. Tiago couldn't have been less interested and just kept saying "ok, discount" which wasn't really the point of calling his attention. He reduced the bill by â¬20, which again, wasn't the point. I'm really in shock that a restaurant, in Portugal, that is charging these prices has such low levels of quality and service. Never again - stick to the many traditional and value for money restaurants you'll find in the area.

We stopped here on the way from Lisbon to the Algarve.The restaurant offered one of the best buffet selection we've ever had and all for â¬10.97 per adult. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. Service was exceptional too. And the location was amazing.DON'T MISS OUT!
