We arrived late for lunch to the village and after asking in a few restaurants and bars this one was the only one that we could have a simple sandwich and the hamburger. The food was quite nice, service was helpful and kind, music that was playing in the background was great and the place fresh which was very welcome by us given the high temperature.

We saw the sign at the end of the road, it mentioned that we could buy the local traditional bread and looking up the road saw the open sign so off we trotted. It was lovely and cool, prettily decorated and the owner and staff were extremely friendly. We tried Boleima with and without apple and took some home. definitely worth a visit.

Jerico was one of the only restaurants open on a Tuesday in September, but was an excellent surprise. Friendly English speaking staff, great food and cheap prices. We ordered several fish dishes and all were nice. Fast service as well and fun donkeys on the walls!

This seems to offer genuine local dishes at great prices, with friendly service from the owner (who speaks good English and French.) There is a wonderful view across the valley below from the terrace at the back, with cool, shaded tables off the main square out the front and a more formal restaurant setting in between. I had soup and one of the 3 dishes of the day for 6,40 euros. There are lots of tempting desserts to follow and a tempting range of pastries, teas and fresh fruit juices if you want to call in for a snack.

The restaurant was packed with the local crowd. Not another tourist to be seen! The daily special was chicken, smelled and looked delicious, and was incredibly cheap. However, we opted for fish and seafood, and were not disappointed. The calamari was cooked to perfection. The serves were huge, and we were unable to finish it all. Coffee was nice and strong. The chocolate mousse was amazing! Service was fast, friendly and efficient. It was a great adventure and felt like a truly authentic experience, far from the tourist crowd. Highly recommended!

The cod (bacaulhau) dorado, a cod, cheese and onion casserole, was out of this world. The gazpacho, which seemed to have a slight flavor of olives, was also very good. The restaurant is not far from the tourist information office.

We looked on trip-advisor and were going to a recommended restaurant next door but it was closed! We went into Pirolito and sat down at the only available table. We sat for quite awhile before we were attended and some people that arrived after us were attended first . We thought it was their opening night as the service seemed very inexperienced .the food was delicious and there was some entertainment, which was quite nice. I would only criticise the fact that we were given without asking for them , black olives ( they were the best I’ve ever tasted) and bread and a type of tapernade, and on paying the bill we were charged for them , a Euro each , if you give something unordered you should not charge for it !

Restaurante A Confraria

This place was a blessing during my vacations. Me and my friends were visiting the city and we wanted to have a nice, relaxed meal. A good one, without really looking into expenses. We were 6 and we ended up paying about 20-25€ each. We had starters, main course (different dishes and we shared), 2 bottles of wine, desserts, coffee...everything was, from the beginning to the end, excellent! The decoration of the place is simple but has interesting details. The service is...close, personal. We even took a picture in the end with the staff, we liked it so much! Highly recommended!!!

We were greeted by the friendly manager in the street while looking for a local place of interest and then met the manager at the restaurant. His service was great - made super recommendations for local appetizers and main course. Kept us well informed of the menu and his service was simply outstanding. I should add there was one older waiter who seemed abrupt and a bit rude but this did not spoil our meal. Complements to the manager and the kitchen staff for an outstanding meal. Dear Customer and Friend, Thank you for giving us the privilege of serving you 3 times during your stay: Happy New Year for your family, it was also a privilege to enjoy your company. Until the next opportunity, Jorge
