We needed a quick and simple lunch, and went for the daily menu. For a mere 10,5 euros you get a soup (or lumpia), main dish and coffee or tea! As with every Chinese restaurant, you won't leave hungry. The interior is rather kitsch but that can be interpreted as cosy too.

They have a superb stewed meat dish and excellent French fries. A variety of dishes is available, for less than ten euros they serve you a big plate, half meat, half vegetables. The interior is modern but not particularly large or cozy - then again, it's clean and decent for a fast food place.

Fortunately it was a very pleasant summers evening - so the massive wait was not too bad, but I have to say that the service was VERY SLOW!The food was delightful and the wines were excellent. I would recommend visiting the restaurant ... but be prepared for a long wait!
Gezellige brasserie met een eenvoudige kaart en personeel met niveau. Huiswijnen zijn lekker en op de juiste temperatuur geschonken. Wij hadden spaghetti en een vispannetje, beiden zeer ok.

Beatufully restorated castle wioth gardens and ponds cosy dining rooms and excellent modern day tastes in this family run business
Le Vieux Chateau is hidden away from the main street behind trees and placed in a park surrounded by a moat, where a Black swan is reigning with its entourage of ducks. The restaurant itself is more like a large dark living room with huge Castle Windows and a Warming fire place. We went there Long Friday to celebrate a birthday. The service was impeccable, they did their best to translate the menu (only available in French and Flamish). The food was just great. Variations we hadn't tried yet and nicely served and prepared. Also everyone got 3 different kind of appetizers even though only two had ordered it. The mushroom soup was absolutely heavenly - I did not know, that mushroom soup could taste that good. Complements to the chef! The birthday child (my son) got a surprise plate before dessert. A delicious pineapple/mint cocktail served with a little firework. If you would like to enjoy a great dinner of good quality in beautiful surroundings and great service, then visit this place. Our best recommendations!

This restaurant is almost hidden in the beauty of the Flemish Ardennes, and has a slightly out of place urban feel. However the gold, black and wood interior is stylish and tastefully done. Service is friendly and welcoming, including consideration of food allergies. The food is good quality, tasty and in decent portions. Given the price, the look and the menu this is a place for special occasions.

Even though we live less than 10km from this place, we'd never visited before. We came here after an afternoon of hiking. They have about 60 different types of beer, a good selection of gin tonics and some nice nibbles to go with them. We decide to stay for dinner too. Even though this was a Tuesday, the place filled up quickly with people who obviously knew the place and had made reservations beforehand. The menu is small and very traditional, but good. We'll definitely visit again.

My husband and I went to dinner with two friends in Eekeveld last night. The restaurant is situated in the owner's own house which gives you the feeling of being at home. It is not a huge restaurant as there are only three rooms, beautifully furnished with crystal chandeliers. We think they cater for a maximum of around 25 persons. As it was a lovely evening we were brought to the back garden for the aperitif. We decided upon the â¬39 menu excluding drinks as we all don't drink the same things. Two of us had the scampi as a starter and two had the home made pate foie gras. This was followed by a choice of soup or sorbet with jenever. As I had said upon arrival that I was the driver and didn't want alcohol, I was delighted when they brought my sorbet, it was without alcohol. For the main course three of us had Chateaubriand "Archiduc" and one young duck with port sauce. The wine, we ordered per glass was according to my husband and friends excellent quality. The dessert of home made ice-cream, chocolate mousse and fresh fruit.Another thing that impressed us was the fact that while in the garden we discovered they grow their own herbs which are situated under the kitchen window. This was a superb meal at an excellent price. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

The Shake is definitely fancier than the outside or name implies (maybe I'm missing a cultural reference). My dad and I split a black angus meal. I don't speak Dutch so I couldn't tell you which cut of meat it was but it was fantastic. It's cooked in a Spanish oven and has a slight smoky taste. It's just enough to be good but not overbearing. It also comes with a salad which I didn't care for, bread, and olives while the meat is being cooked, and one side that comes out with the meat. We had about four slices on each of our plates which was about what we expected given the quality and type of restaurant. Then the waitress walked by and said the rest of the meat would be out soon. They brought at least double what we already had. We got french fries as our side and by the end we finished the meat but were way too full to finish the fries. Overall, it was a great experience and I definitely recommend it to anyone going through the area.

The gastro menu was excellent, seasoning perfect.I usually struggle with a large menu but not today, portions were just right. The wine was good, the young man serving the wine has an obvious passion for wines, he gave a good explication on each wine, he knew his stuff! Not to miss this restaurant, better than the 1star michelin we went to in geraardsbergen!
