Despite the upheaval of our beautiful 'Gods Own' to lycra, Carraiages maintains is well rehearsed plan to feed the many. Couldn't believe our luck that the staff were happy to squeeze us in for Sunday lunch last week to celebrate my birthday at short notice. Just an average table of 6. I was aware that they were hoisting a large party of 40 in the garden and was happy to dine inside. Lovely atmosphere in the bar where drinkers and diners are welcomed to mingle. The aroma that fills the air is to die for and we were keen to make a dash with our drinks to the table to make our order. The courses menu is great and we all chose the 2 course option, so as not to look too greedy, however 3 changed their minds once they had seen the sweets!.Sitting in the comfort of the dining room we were not disappointment with the traditional ( & massive) good old Yorkshire Pudding. Amongst us the roast beef, roast chicken, lamb and a pie were devoured. However, the Chef surpassed himself with the White chocolate cheese cake. Having ordered the time honered, Sticky toffee pudding, the spoons were reaching across the table to sample the birthday girls White choc cheese cake . After successfully fending them off, two more were ordered and quickly consumed. After a sing song the staff were happy to run around after us providing drinks and pleasant chat. Nothing is too much trouble and service is well worth tipping. I hope they share any tips with the chefs. Met some lovely out of towners that were attending a mass lunch after attending a wedding the day before. they commented on what a welcoming place they had the pleasure of visiting. So, we highly recommend Sunday lunch at Carriages. Great that we can comfortably take the dog and children without issue.Happy and full tummy's and still cash in ore purses. See you soon for another nosh up.I am delighted you enjoyed everything from the Yorkshire puddings to the delicious desserts to the great atmosphere. We really appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed review of your Sunday lunch at Carriages and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Two Brothers Grill & Pizzeria located in the heart of Knaresborough, just a short walk from the beautiful Castle grounds which offers stunning views of the River Nidd. The venue (formerly known as Courtyard Bar & Grill) has recently changed ownership and
Booked for Sunday lunch and surprised to find it relatively quiet - not a complaint, it is just every time we come it is heaving. Food as usual superb, staff delightful. Had dropped off balloons and cake night before, they kindly put balloons on table and brought out cake after mains.

Established in 1985 and serving traditional Italian food of high quality at competitive prices, situated in Ripon's oldest street Kirkgate. This grade 2 listed building is the home of the city first and longest established restaurant with dining area over
After an unfruitful day at the races we arrived for our table pre-booked and were shown to it by mine host. The menu is VERY extensive and not over-priced either. A good selection of specials on the board too.Young friendly and very efficient staff whilst not being over attentive and bothersome. The food was to die for. We and our friends have eaten together all over Europe at some extremely good and reputable establishments. In the words of our friends: âquite possibly the best Italian weâve eaten anywhereâ. Now that says it all.I can not recommend it highly enough.Hello and buon giorno Really sorry you didnât have much luck at the races :(( but hopefully we made your day a little bit more enjoyable Thank you very much for taking the time to post your heartwarming review We hope to see you again soon and better luck with the Gigis next time kind tegards Franco

Brought our (Yorkshire) friend who now lives in Spain for a pre-theatre supper. He really enjoyed the food but in particular, the ambience and the friendly service. Thank you s o much for putting the Burnt Goats Cheese back on the menu. It is a lovely dish. Can't wait to come again.Thank you so much for that great review, we're delighted you chose us as your venue to entertain your Yorkshire friend from Spain. We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor and decided to booked it for Sunday lunch.I'm glad we did booked as it was very busy from it open it door.I had prawn tempura,it was nice. And roasted beef for my main ( I did asked for as rare/pink as possible) and I wasn't disappointed. The beef are soft, juicy and almost melted in the mouth. And my boyfriend had chicken liver ( very tasty I must say), roasted pork + roasted beef for his main. We also shared sticky toffee puddingThe service are excellent!!

My wife and I dined at the General Tarleton three nights running during an east of England road trip. To find the quality of dining offered by the General Tarleton, in the middle of the Yorkshire countryside, was one of the highlights of two weeks of a very successful trip. The service was good with efficient and friendly staff making sure that everything from ordering through to tea and coffee ran smoothly without being rushed. The warm and cosy lounge was a great venue to take pre- and post-dinner drinks. The restaurant offered a set menu and a wider choice of dishes. We explored both and were not disappointed by any of the courses on any of our three nights. The portions are generous, well cooked and well presented. The wine list is well thought through with something for all budgets and tastes. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Fantastic food is important at The Blue Bell: our local suppliers provide us with great Yorkshire produce which our chefs use to put together a great range of dishes from the pub classics we all know and love (think Fish & Chips or Cheese Burger) to some
We were a group of 5 ladies having lunch, we all decided to have the meal for £12 which included a main course and a drink, 3 of us ordered the fish and chips. Two portions arrived one of which was pale and undercooked, mine was fine. We explained to the waitress that one portion was inedible and she asked if I would like to swap my meal with the one that we were sending back. The third portion of fish and chips eventually arrived which also had to be returned for further cooking. The two ladies in question were offered a free coffee as compensation which never arrived. When we asked for the bill 2 liqueur coffees had been included. The service was extremely poor and it appeared that there were only 2 waitresses on duty and unable to meet the demands of the diners.

We were booked on a 2 breakfasts and 1 evening meal basis. Breakfasts were excellent with real good service. The food for the evening meal was as good as Iâve had in any hotel. I had the beef medallions in peeper sauce and would certainly recommend it. Good choice of desserts and wine too. Nothing was a problem for the staff. On our second evening I had a very good bar meal at the same hotel.

Had drinks in the upstairs bar prior to dinner after a lovely welcome from Lisa. It is a lovely, comfortable, quirky room which gives a great start to the evening. The dining room is beautifully appointed and the food was great. My wife had bresaola followed by spinach and ricotta ravioli and I had smoked salmon and prawns followed by belly pork with wonderful crispy crackling. Oh and I forgot to mention superb home baked sourdough bread. When we are next back in this neck of the woods we will definitely return.
