Had lunch here on a Wednesday and sat outside which in fact was pretty nice. Unfortunately there wasn't any service outside so you ended up being your own server for ordering your food and every time you wanted a drink. And when the weather turned on us and we ended up sitting inside we were still our own waiter for the coffee. I understand that waiters are expensive but I was a little disappointed by the self-service concept. The food was ok but not great and in that case I felt that the prices were a little high (19.50 euro and 19 euro for a salad isn't exactly cheap). I always ask myself if I would return to the restaurant. And even as there are many food options in Borgloon I may return to De Smaakfabriek and try something completely different with the hope that the next dish is going to be great and totally blow me away

We visit here on a regular basis and the quality of both the food and wine is always amazing. We of course recommend their lovely pizza but overall everything is made with passion. Donât forget about their wine suggestions there are often lovely discoveries to be made.

De bron daar kan je van alles eten ze hebben een zeer gevarieerde kaart, Allard wat van brasserie en een restaurant te samen , het is en blijft een doodgewoon dorps restaurantje waar mensen van ver komen om lekker te dineren of te lunchen heel gekend door de truckers en de boeren ontbijten alsof je thuis bent gewoon top ! Een aanrader voor iedereen en zeker voor de vele fietstoeristen de de buurt van loon of sint truiden bezoeken en de prijs is dik oke

Next to the beautiful Colen abbey, this café offers nice outdoor seating with wonderful views on the surroundings, including the fascinating work of Aeneas Wilder (Untitled #158).Go inside to select the pie of you choice: they are all delicious and served very generously!A place to discover.

We really enjoyed our evening. Everything was top notch. We loved the appetizers (oxtail stood out), the main dishes (partridge was outstanding) and the desserts (cheese platter and dragon sherbet stood out). Wines were excellent, service cheerful and professional and prices reasonable (310 euros for 5 persons). We will surely come back

zaterdagavond gaan eten . Eerst een prosecco als aperitief genomen maar helaas vragen ze niet welke prosecco je wenst , zijnde een reserva of een rosé . Verder enkel olijven gekregen en geen hapje zoals gewoonlijk .Later op de avond zien we dat andere gasten dat hapje wel krijgen .Wij bestellen ook een fles huiswijn die ze niet laten voorproeven maar gewoon ingieten in tegenstelling tot de andere keren dat we er waren en ook bij andere tafels zien we dat ze de wijn wel laten voorproeven .Dus samengevat : eten was zeer lekker meer de bediening door de gastvrouw was deze keer iets minder , hetgeen we ook gemeld hebben bij het betalen van de rekening.

It is always pleasant to discover a new decent restaurant in oneâs neighborhood. Last time we were here it was under different management and not as good. The meal we had last Thursday was very pleasant. There is a card but we choose the 3 course dinner menu which offers a choice of 3 different plates per course, so everybody will find his pick. All plates were agreeably presented, the portions were generous. We each had a complimentary glass of fish soup, asparagus with poached egg, shrimps and mousseline, slow cooked pigâs cheek with veggies, pana cotta with mango and ice. With coffee to follow and 1 bottle of wine and mineral water we paid â¬105 for the two of us and that is very reasonable for the quality meal we enjoyed.

Went there on a sunday sunny afternoon for two coffee. One double espresso and one latte machiatto. Got the Latte machiatto which was not more than a big glas of hot milk with coffee and the double espresso was about 20 ml I suggest. We where sure they made a mistake and give us a single espresso. When we got the bill we had to pay 5 euro just for the double espresso. The waiter didn t react anyway when we asked him for a slight explanation. Disappointed we left. At home we read the other ratings and understand our experience now fully.
