We were on a walking holiday with a well known company but unfortunately had problems with our pre booked hotel, however Hotel Le Kastelberg came to the rescue! Not only did they bend over backwards to help find us two rooms in what was already a very busy hotel, they went out of their way to ensure that we had a fabulous stay. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the manager providing us with suggested local walks. The food was delicious and rooms comfortable. We would like to thank you for saving our holiday and making it one to remember.....

Le Caveau du Vieux Pressoir, with its warm and authentic setting, owes its names to an imposing eighteenth century wine-press, seated in the heart of the restaurant. Christelle and Pascal offer you refined cooking and fine wines from the village and surro
Visiting the picturesque village of Itterswiller in the Alsace; next to a variety of wine bodegas a good selection of quality restaurants are presented too. From the three top establishments, Vieux Pressoir offered the finest cuisine, with innovative diversity in a cosy ambience with friendly personal attention. Highly recommended.

A pleasant restaurant with a classic Alsatian style serving good quality home-cooked food at reasonable prices to suit all tastes. The restaurant was busy at lunchtime but the food was served quickly and there was plenty of locally grown wine to wash it down with.

This restaurant is located in the heart of the village of Barr a beautiful village 25 mn away from Strasbourg. The restaurant offers a nice outside terrace. When we arrived, the waitress was not smiley. We took the menus, waiting for our friends. Finally, they arrived and we changed the table to sit in the shadow as it is hot and sunny. At the end, a third couple joined us and we asked to extend the table. Then arrived a waiter with a severe face and not smiley. He refused to modify the table and imposed a table for 6. We sat at this table but one of our invitees had her back in the sun. We tried to move the umbrella and the waiter came back and started to shout with us. He stated that the umbrella can not be moved whatever happened. I replied and explained to this waiter that he should be concerned by the comfort of his guests and be flexible in these extreme weather conditions. The waitresses came back and ask me to close my mouth. I replied to her in local dialect, saying that it is a shame to treat clients like that. It is a pity because the food was very good, served quickly. However, this place should be banned, due to the behavior of this waiter and this waitress.

Went to this restaurant in the quiet town of Barr in Alsace mainly because it was a Tuesday night and nothing else was open. It was quite busy but we were able to sit outside. Kids liked it becasue they had many pastas and pizzas available on the menu. Also ordered was a scallop of veal which was quite good with a nice sauce but not very filling. About 90e for 4 with a bottle of Italian wine. Good restaurant for families.

DEUTSCH / ENGLISH Carte
This was my second time eating at Caveau Folie Marco in Barr. The first time, several years ago, was a feast of eating tarte flambee with extended family. It was excellent. This time I was with just two others, and none of us wildly hungry. I opted for the tarte a l'oignon, an onion tart, which was listed on the menu as an appetizer. It was huge -- two very large pieces, accompanied by a large green salad. One of my companions had the foie gras appetizer -- wonderfully prepared. The other had baked muenster cheese with honey and cumin, an alsatian specialty. It was delicious. The server pretty much ignored us, but that was okay since we were pretty content to just talk and eat. The restaurant is more or less a cave. You descend maybe 20 steps to the underground cellar. Decorations are a bit cheesy but in fitting with the setting. A pelasant meal overall.

This is a lovely restaurant, run by a couple who are the chefs. The food is of high quality and the presentation is very nice. It has an attractive bar and a good wine list. Everything we ate was delicious and the service was outstanding. A very nice place for a special occasion.

This restaurant was rated quite high in the town of Barr. Honestly speaking, my starter of shrimp tempura was not good. The main w fish and black rice was good, nothing fancy, solid home cooking. I skipped my hotel restaurant at Mgallery by Sofitel to come here which was a big mistake. If you have one meal here, make sure you go to Mgallery la Table du 5 which offers definitely a refined gourmet dinner in a modern charming setting.

We called the same day and they made an effort to get us in. Only 7 tables it is advisable to book in advance. Very personal reception and excellent service throughout the evening. We took the middle menu with matching wines which as well included several amuse boucheâs. Extremely pleased with the evening.
