Restaurants in Balatongyorok
We visited this restaurant a number of times on our holiday whilst at Balatongyorok, Hungary. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and he even spoke a little English to get us by. Once been he remembered our drinks and I must admit they served the best red wine I have ever tried in my life...My husband tried the mixed grill one evening and it was wonderful, I had alsorts from stuffed peppers, to pork to good old Schnitzel.

This is a very good restaurant, a welcome change compared to the many "tourist trap" like places in this very touristic region. The food is excellent, the setting, lovely - you have a view of Lake Balaton. Recommended if you are in the region. It is a huge plus that it is also open in the off-season. (Lots of places by the lake operate only in the summer.)

The food arrived very quickly and was well prepared nonetheless. Refreshingly, the food had a more modern touch to it, which we found to be uncommon in the area. Staff was very responsive and maybe even a bit too much present. We also enjoyed the wine! Sadly, we couldn't try a Strudel, because it was sold out around 7 p.m.

We were very hungry and this place filled our bellies with delicious and large meals. There are delicious drinks even for non alcoholics (their homemade lemonade). I took fish and substituted potato purée with veggies, so they made more veggies for me! It was very nice, and the fact that the whole place is very open, bright and just very attractive. It is a family owned restaurant, so the service is very friendly as well. Very nice experience, would surely come back! They have different menus for - meat eaters, fish eaters, vegetarians, vegans and paleo!

I have been at least 50 times at this restaurant . Very good food, looks very nice. It could reach almost a Michelin star, which is rare here around Keszthely. Very nice staff. Small card, with a lot of changes. You wonât find Wiener schnitzel on the menu card Especially the deserts are fantastic and the â rakott krumpli â. Sebastian

We were 10 in the group and almost everybody ordered something different: mainly satisfying chicken and duck, the carp was also okay, but our catfish was disappointing, such as the mixed meatHowever, the staff was kind, the wine delicious and the ambient pleasantEverybody should give a try

Csókafészek was reloaded by the Tamási family and operated as a friendly and demanding restaurant offering a wide choice of meals with homemade character supplemented by the breathtaking panorama. We enjoyed our visit some years ago.We returned in 2019 and realized that there is a new owner and the unique character disappeared. Instead, we found a fine dining place offering trendy things like sous-vide, confit, iron plate, etc. Well, four out of the five meals were tasty (however, quite small 'gourmet' portions), but the fifth, a veal paprikash was even oversalted. Moreover, we missed the friendly and unique atmosphere of the family-run Csókafészek, where even the disabled son was involved in serving the guests. At least, the panorama remained the same...
