We appreciated that there were mostly innovativ dishes on the menue. And the food was seasonal and local. We had for example a gazpacho out of tomate and melon with shrimps. Very delicious. The staff was friendly and fast. There was nothing to complain.

Really cozy restaurant, well decorated (rare in Germany) with a good service. The meals were simple but delicate and made with good products. The menu seem to change and adapt according to the season or the available products and doest not contain too many items (quality over quantity). We also tested a mojito cocktail and it was delicious. We will definitly go back.

Whether Schweineschnitzel, Roast beef with Bratkartoffeln or Sauerfleisch with ditto - it all tastes as it should, authentic & 'herzhaft'.Portions are generous but not silly, the service is very friendly and welcoming and the venue very cosy, being in an attractive cellar vault. And it doesn't bust your wallet.

My wife & I had lunch here as part of a tour group. We have eaten in dozens of restaurants in Germany & have never been served as small a schnitzel as we got here. It was smaller than the palm of our hands. We did get plenty of potatoes, but I think we got a poor meal because we were part of a tour. I complained about the service when I got back to the cruise ship when I found out another part of our tour ate at another restaurant & got a fantastic meal. I would not eat here again.

Really good ambiance with a modern decoration and a very nice service.I took some antipasti first, I couldn't eat one because it was a mixture of cream cheese with orange, but the rest was very good. Then I ordered an ox goulash (very good) with a gratin of sweet potatoes that I couldn't eat because there was orange in it (why?). For the dessert, I ordered a crème brûlée (and specifically asked if there was any orange in it) and nonetheless there was the orange taste again. Why not keep this simple and not put orange everywhere?

We were a pax of 3 and had the breaded pork in various forms. Food came quickly and was tasty and well presented. At 14 EUR a dish good value for money. Service is very informal and not super well trained as waiters but kind enoughBe aware that you can only pay with cash which is odd in this day and ageWould go back if I was in the area anyway

We've visited Malente on a couple of occasions and always make a visit here. The menu is traditional German at a reasonable price. Both times we've visited, the place has been packed. The food is excellent, but the main draw is to sit out on the patio, on a sunny day, enjoying the view over the lake. Get there early to get a seat at the balcony and stay until late to watch the sun setting.
