Went with a couple friends over from Australia. I got the King Crab and Calamari Entrees and the A5 Wagyu for a main and it was worth ever dollar. Absolutely cooked to perfection and hands down the best meal I've ever had.

Sid at The French Cafe is a fine dining restaurant in Auckland City offering the very best in food, wine and service.
It was our first time at the restaurant, and what an amazing experience it was. The staff were amazing, and we were pleasantly surprised by all the little hors dâoeuvres that kept arriving at our table between courses! Sid, you have done an amazing job with the restaurant. Food and service is top notch.

Had a truly excellent fine dining meal last night. Very allergy friendly too. Great staff that explained every dish of lovely Indian fusion food that we were eating and its not every restaurant that can casually mention that they've just whipped up a coconut jelly to compliment your snapper crab when the dish contained a soy component. The whole meal tasted excellent and was complimented by seamless service. Loved it.

Outstanding cellared wines, innovative cuisine, thoroughly professional service - as one of Auckland's favourite local restaurants, One Tree Grill offers a complete dining experience.
We planned on Orbit360 but due to the Sky City Convention Centre fire we looked for fine dining that was closer to where were staying. We had fine dining that exceeded our expectations and had a great waiter, Max. The Whitebait (NZ delicacy) was served coated on top of egg omlete roll. This made a great improvement from being stuck together with egg in the traditional manner. And that was the start of wonderful dishes presented in fine manner.

Went for the 7-course wine pairing dinner and what a wonderful experience. The plating, texture and taste of each course were so well composed, pairing with some of the rather unusual wines from around the world, making this evening a memorable one. 3 old friends from 40 plus years ago had such a good time reminiscing over dinner that the 4 hours went by so fast. Left the restaurant feeling full and happy. Thank you to Jordan who made our evening extra special by proving descriptions in the courseâs ingredients and the special characteristic of that particular paired wine. This meal will last a long time in our minds. Thank you also to the entire crew of Grove. You made our evening so great.

Paris Butter elegantly combines classic bistro ambiance with refined dining. Chef Nick Honeyman and his team create innovative and interpretive French cuisine, adapted to New Zealand ingredients which are sourced locally.
I feel like the menu was just a copy of other restaurants such as their kiwi onion dip which features on the Sugar clubs menu. They also offer "snacks" which is another sugar club feature. I also found it frustrating that a table of four could not do 2 x 3 course and 2 x 5 course and all had to do the same even when we mentioned we clearly understood that our courses and delivery times would not match. On a positive the waitresses were mostly lovely.Hi thank you for your review! Whilst we love the sugar club ( we also highly recommend it), especially when our friend Josh was at the helm we canât let them take credit for our menu format or items that have been running for almost two years. Snacks is a world wide format that we embraced to be able to have a little fun.Like most other restaurants we offer each menu for the whole table as it is a service step we decided on so we could deliver the best experience to you. We are a small owner operated business with a small team trying to go above and beyond, sometimes this means we have to decide where our limitations are and are sorry we could not deliver the experience you were after. We think The standard of New Zealand food is incredible and we should be very proud of it, we hope that the next restaurant you go is not judged a copycat immediately when they have âsnacksâ and you take some time to enjoy their interpretation of it.We would love to chat to you further about your evening [email protected] We hope that there is a next time and we have the opportunity to surpass any expectations.

My partner and I have been to this lovely French bistro a few times. This unpretentious establishment run by Christophe, Melanie and Alexandre is a real gem! Everytime, when leaving, we have felt very satisfied, and very content. Christophe's cuisine is classical and exceptionally executed, his dishes very tasty. Don't forget to try one his terrines, they are always meaty and aromatic, a real must. No matter which main we have chosen, the meat has always been cooked to perfection. Last week was no exception: Duck Breast served with a passion fruit sauced some Sarladaise potatoes! Delicious! The meat was juicy and the sauce the perfect balance of sweet, tart and savoury. That's when it is important to mention Alexandre, the Maitre D', a fine French sommelier. I always trust him to choose the wine to match my meal, and last week he brought a rose, a white and a red! All accompanied the duck very well by highlighting different aspects of the dish! A delight! If you have some space for desert, go and have one. No creme brûlée, nor crepe suzette! No; at Le Bistro des Gourmets you'll taste something a bit different such a Sable Breton prepared with flambee fruit, or even a Baba au Rhum with a bitter sweet chocolate mousse. No desert is over sweet, just perfectly balanced. After your meal, a Digestif is possibly what you feel like to round off such a good meal! Go for it! So, the food is great, the wine list equally so and both change often, to keep things interesting. But what keeps us coming back for more, is the service. Melanie and Alexandre clearly know what they are doing and enjoy it, making the whole experience seamless and very pleasant. Whether it be a date night a birthday or a friends' gathering, Le Bistro des Gourmets is worth a visit... or more!
