Putting the "gastropub" label on every piece of paper in the restaurant does not really do much for branding when the gastro part is such a sad affair. This used to be the place to go for a mediocre lasagne in a room that smelled of last night's party, now it seems to be the place to go for over priced burgers and under cooked potatoes. Oh, and "spareribs" that are actually a single, not very large piece of rib at a completely ridiculous price.

Real Slow food resturant for lunch and dinner, real Norwegian plates. We have fresh fish every day. New menu every week on facebook
As the saying goes; "when in Rome, do like the Romans"; a piece of advice relevant for finding a good meal with value for money. Well, applying that in Arendal, will take you to "Gørr Go Mad". They serve very good healty everyday food at a reasonable price in a homely atmosphere. It is not the place with expensive wine on the menu, but you wont miss it anyhow. This is "home cooking" at its best. Gørr Go Mad is located in a formerly diary industrial building well outside the city centre - so the challenge for an outsider is to find it and get there. But if you can handle that, it is worth the bother. Yes, it is!

Was happy to find a Greek restaurant in Arendal, so entered here with no doubts. A nice clean place, has terrace, and good atmosphere with Greek music on background. We asked for the menus and few explanations of it, as no English version available, but the waitress said she can not give information about the food as she is not working in the kitchen!!!! Whaaaaaaat??? My wife had mussels, and I went for the kebab. I did try to translate to understand what type of kebab is, but Google Translate got stuck. And of course it was something like köfte (which is not really on my taste) and it was not even made out of lamb. The food looks good, nice platting, service is fast but unprofessional. Also the portions are very small (specially the mussels), and the taste is for sure not Greek, just something very fade. Weâve been to Greece for a month in May, we tried many traditional dishes, and they have a very tasty cousin. The best part of the meal was the fries and the Coke (poor aioli also), which is sad.So we left the place still hungry and wonât return here again. It is also pretty expensive taking in consideration the quality and quantity of food. Not recommended!

Went for dinner in this restaurant this evening. A very busy restaurant and I believe we were lucky to get a table. Midsummers night and many are out celebrating so it was just a little noisy. Seated in the centre of the restaurant let us see at first hand how hard working all three chefs were. The waitress was very attentive and explained the menu. The menu is available in English. I settled for the bisque soup and the steak for mains. Excellent choice even though the steak was a little too large for me. I had the lemon dessert. The wine was excellent!Donât forget a jacket - itâs cold even in the summer. Excellent dinner and Iâm pleased we chose this restaurant for dinner. Thank you very much for a great review. Welcome again, Sincerely, Trine

Blom's is a long established restaurant on the quayside in Arendal. As ever the service was excellent on this visit as it always has been. Very busy due to the Christmas period, so reservations essential. Chose the scallops for starters and reindeer for the main course - excellent choice - both cooked to perfection. Happy to dine here - waiter very helpful.Good friendly environment. Good wifi. Only disappointment was no Christmas beer, but the regular beer was good.
