Reviews on European food in Antananarivo, Antananarivo Province, Madagascar. Built on a narrow, rocky ridge, Antananarivo occupies a strategic point at the center of the island of Madagascar. Two forts watch over the city from the east and southwest, while within the city limits lay royal palaces, embassies, some fifty churches and a mosque. The city's most distinguishing feature may be the burnt out remains of the Rova, or Queen's Palace, situated on a prominent hill. Its steep alleys and stairways make Antananarivo a challenging but rewarding city to explore on foot.

With a warm and friendly greeting on arrival to the welcome drink in your room, this place has been an absolute pleasure to stay in.Rooms are spacious, everything you need, bathrooms are stylish. Laying on the amazingly comfortable bed, looking out at the views of the city over the lake. Enjoyed a quiet drink on the large balcony before heading out for a night.Arriving back and enjoying a drink on the decked veranda enjoying the views and laughs with the friendly staff. Breakfast was great traditional French breakfast. All in all a definite 5* recommendation from me. If you are lucky enough to be in Madagascar please try and stop over here.

Petit Verdot was one of our favorite spots when we lived here twelve years ago. We always come back when we visit and are always delighted. This time was no different. Snails and frog legs were amazing, as was the sick and perfect wines.

à Very Renowned Adress For French Cuisine With South West Specialties And Raclette And Fonduethé Restaurant Is à Charming Address Very Trendy So Booking Is Recommended On Thu-fri-sat
Dined here for early dinner and already the candles lit up the palms in the court yard. We had goats cheese and honey salad, duck shepared's pie and then dessert. It was amazing! Even the duck sheperds pie was a bit of a revelation. Would recommend eating here - very quiet, charming and beautiful and the food is great. Good value at around 18-25,000 for a main meal - although I had a starter and dessert and this was ample.

Tiny restaurant with its 16 chairs but warm atmosphere with wooden copies of old airline posters on the walls. Quick lunch with a well cooked and tender duck 'magret' with a delicious potatoe 'gratin'. Smily and fast reacting waitress. The manager is very welcoming and eager to share his bottle of 'rhum arrange'.Merci beaucoup Mr Solofo d avoir commente favorablement notre petit etablissement . Nous serons tres content de vous recevoir lors de votre prochain sejour . Bien a vous . Serge

Met the owner in a shop where we were buying spices. He mentioned his restaurant was the best in Antananarivo and we should come visit. Well he wasnât far wrong, absolutely amazing food. We also had a glass of mulled wine - to die for. Dessert was very tempting but our mains were ample and we couldnât squeeze in another bite. X

I organised a communication workshop there. The intimate setting at the heart of town is ideal for brainstorming and tram building. The traditional decoration made us feel home. The menu included savorous meals. The view included the city and amazing sunset. The only disadvantage was the narrow corridors and rooms, though well furnished

During my last stay in Madagascar went for dinner at the Kudeta Restaurant. Very good food served there along with a nice service except that the waiter got confused at a few of our orders and brought grilled vegetables for all those who have asked for fries or sautéed potatoes

Stayed in the nice, quirky hotel and had a very nice meal in their Resturant. A mixture of local and french cuisine and also a mix of patrons. Great service even though they were full and the space is limited. Also a useful selection of french wines. Starting with drinks around the pool was a relaxing way to start the evening. Well worth a visit. Dear kloveron,Thank you very much for your lovely comment. We are glad to read that you have liked both our hotel and restaurant and especially that you have enjoyed our service. We are looking forward to welcoming you on a future occasion.Veloma,Your Sakamanga team

In a cozy atmosphere "" The Restaurant "La Varangue" is open from breakfast to dinner to enjoy in a unique kitchen "World flavors and fragrance of our island" concocted by the chef.
Located in the heart of Tana, this small, eclectic restaurant was a wonderful experience. Outstanding service, rivaling international restaurants in European cities. The atmosphere is that of a museum or home of a collector of history. The food was wonderful. Good wine selection. The prices are reasonable. Reservations (by email) are required at least a week in advance. Enjoy a special evening in the heart of Tana.
