Every time, I am visiting Europe from Australia I have to visit the little village of Preunschen in the picturesque mountain forests called Odenwald and especially its restaurant "Zum Grunen Baum". The cosy atmosphere in Gisela's restaurant, the service and the specialities served are second to none compared to anywhere in Europe at a very affordable price. Specialities are deer, wild boar , hare and duck provided freshly by local hunters. There are also several excellent and low cost B&Bs and appartments with very friendly service available in the village, e.g. ferienhof-sennert.de or google holiday in Kirchzell. You will enjoy it.

Very nice and confortable place with any table outside under the grape. The service is good with the right timing, curteous and ready to support your cooking desire. Very good food, well prepared and deserved with a good outlook. They are also wine producers and it taste good to be a german wine.

They fit us in at the last minute and our meal was excellent. The back of the restaurant is more modern which we liked.

We came here for lunch while visiting the beautiful town of MIltenberg. The location is perfect, right by the dom and in the center of the marktplatz. It was a beautiful sunny day and we sat outside under the trees. The service was quick and friendly, the waitress spoke english and was very helpful with everything.I had the schweineschnitzel and it was perfect. The fries that came with it were deliciously deep fried and tasted really good.Definitely I place to visit again when we return to this town.

This was a great find with plenty of atmosphere and almost devoid of tourists. There was an English menu on request however and the staff were helpful and obliging. The beer and house red wine were good and the food excellent. Food was cooked to order. I had a perfect tender rump steak smothered with a very tasty dark onion sauce and served with spatzel and a very good salad. My wife had what was from the menu for smaller dishes which consisted of a grilled pork neck and salad that good hardly be described as small but was very good. Overall a great lunch.

Miltenberg has so much to offer but high on my list is an evening at the Faust Biergarten. Very good food options at reasonable prices but the highlight is sitting "out back" and watching the people and boats go by on the mighty Main River. Toast this review when you experience this yourself. Prost!

GenieÃen Sie die ursprüngliche fränkische Gastlichkeit in unserem schönen Wirtshaus. Bereits seit dem 12. Jahrhundert waren hier schon unzählige gekrönte Häupter zu Besuch. 1711 weilte hier zum Beispiel Kaiser Karl VI - morgen vielleicht Sie! Im Frühjahr
We sat outside and enjoyed people-watching with our dinner at this historical hotel. My liver and onions with fried potatoes was tasty, although quite heavy. A mixed meat platter was also very good, according to my husband. I think an appetizer and sharing a main would probably be enough for many couples.

This is one of my favorite little towns in Germany, Maybe because my mother was born in a nearby town.I have family & friends in this town and nearby. When I visited on my other trips I have stayed at Hotel Post.Unfortunately when I tried to book it again, I discovered that Hotel Post was closed.Thank goodness for the Tourist Information office in Amorbach. A very helpful man, Patrik contacted me after I emailed the office and recommended Schmelzfanne Guesthaus. They have a website for the restaurant but there was no way to contact them for the lodging. Thanks to Patrik we were booked a very nice size & modern room. After we arrived we decided to have dinner here also and what a wonderful meal. The character and ambiance of this quaint & rustic Inn are just wonderful. They also provided a nice little breakfast of meats, cheese, bread, eggs ,coffee & juice in the morning in the restaurant. This is such a charming town and Guesthaus. I hope that I will be able to visit here again. I never tire of strolling the small streets, shops and visiting the two impressive churches located here. There is also a small chapel named Amorsbrunn that is a short but very enjoyable walk from townLoved my visit here !
