It started well with a rather nice menu choice in a though simple but clean and cured place,.. Unfortunately the waiter didn't rely speak Italian ... He got my very simple order wrong and although there were only 2 occupied tables I had to wait 40 minutes for a Tuna steak with spinach ... Amazing ... The food was good though

Typical Emiliana cuisine in a lunch-only, four tables total, wonderfully executed gem. The gnoccho fritto are so light and puffy, amazing! The pasta is a perfect example of great execution and âdressed, not drownedâ.The only slight miss from my perspective was panna cotta that was, to me, too firm (though with wonderful flavor).

The fortress, built in 1200, manifests its mysterious charm through its severe aspect and imposing solidity. Kings, princes, soldiers, architects and military engineers visited: here lived Emperor Carlo V, Francesco I the King of France, Lucrezia Borgia d
It is not close to popular tourist destinations, but this an excellent little restaurant, specialized in local (Emilia ROmagna cuisine) pasta dishes, beef dishes (they buy the best Italian beef, making it arrive from various Italian Regions, renowned for traditional breeds: Piedmont, Marche, ROmagna, etc.). Sweets and desserts are also very good; my friends who drink wine tell me that also the wine list is particular and worth the visit, but I don't drink (wine gives me headache) so I could't say anything based on direct experience. Also the dining rooms are very beautiful: the restaurant is located inside a very old tower that was a change horse station along the Via Emilia (the old Roman road). In summer it is possible to dine alfresco on the large terrace.

We stumbled upon this restaurant when travelling on our holiday. There was a man who helped us park in the rather small parking lot.As soon as we got in we felt appeased by the friendly atmosphere. The place seemed filled with locals. We found the food to be very tasty and loved the fried zucchini for example. The pasta were cooked to a perfection. The price was modest.

I gave a try to this place once more after a couple of years.Great location and very nice premises indeed - perfect for a business dinner.Service = average quality.Food = OK (honestly I would expect something better in the food valley of Emilia Romagna...).Pricing = well - for what they offer right now from my point of view completely OVERPRICED. I suggest this place for a date or for a business lunch / dinner - to impress the guests (especially foreigners...).If you are a local fellow and you wonna have a great lunch / dinner, I suggest to skip it!living with the 'old fat' indeed still here!

Service is amazing and friendly but not invasive. Food offer is quite wide and all I have tried was great. A supring fusion of modern and traditional homemade cooking of Emilia territories. Great for event friend or romantic dinner. I wouldn't miss at all if I'll be around again there.

This restaurant is closed for renovation. No information on their website, you can still book tables online via Tripadvisor, TheFork etc. so it was a real disappointment when we made an online reservation, received a confirmation and stood in front of closed doors.

We stayed at Best Western just a mile away from Magnagallo but our GPS had some difficulties to position the place which is at the exit to the Bologna-Milano autostrada. We ate there three evenings in a row. This says it all. Let's start with the Borghelo, a local crepe served several evenings as an entree. The place consists of a very large room with plenty of tables attended by not more than 2 to 3 waiters who are always in a friendly rush and assisted by an elderly gentleman, apparently the owner. The place is frequented by locals who come in larger groups for anniversaries but also smaller ones. Further, it is visited by local people who stay at the attached three star hotel. Very nice and mainly casual atmosphere. The restaurant offers free digestives and pays special attention to the customers with additional pasta to be tasted. The duck we had was slightly on the hard side but all in all the food was very good. Prices are acceptable.

A beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location. The food is traditional, and very good and prices are very reasonable. The customers were mainly locals (which is usually a very good indication for the quality of food). Our waitress was very nice, and her English was good - which really added to our overall eperiance. the overall atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting, and we would definitly come back.If you get the chance - seat outside, they have a beautiful garden.
