Uttarakhand (English: /ˌʊtəˈrɑːkʌnd/), officially the State of Uttarakhand (Uttarākhaṇḍ Rājya), formerly known as Uttaranchal, is a state in the northern part of India. It is often referred to as the Devbhumi (literally "Land of the Gods") due to many Hindu temples and pilgrimage centres found throughout the state. Uttarakhand is known for the natural environment of the Himalayas, the Bhabhar and the Terai. On 9 November 2000, Uttarakhand became the 27th state of the Republic of India, being created from the Himalayan and adjoining northwestern districts of Uttar Pradesh. It borders Tibet to the north; the Province No. 7 of Nepal to the east; and the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh to the south and Himachal Pradesh to the west and north-west as well as Haryana on its south-western corner. The state is divided into two divisions, Garhwal and Kumaon, with a total of 13 districts. The interim capital of Uttarakhand is Dehradun, the largest city of the state, which is a railhead. My parents moved to Mukteswar in 1949. I was 5 years old. My father worked in engineering department that supplied gas and electricity to the institute. My elder brother joined the institute and served about 40 years. At an early childhood, I made up my mind to chose veterinary profession. Due to financial support of my father and elder brother I finished B.V.Sc&A.H from Mhow and obtained Master’s in bacteriology from I.VR.I, Mukteshwar in 1967. I enjoyed life in Mukteswar and left the position of Assistant Bacteriologist in 1972 for higher studies in U.SA. I miss Mukteswar life and old friends / families. Last year, my nephew accompanied me for the visit to Mukteswar. There has been a tremendous changes in Mukteswar. It is a natural tourist place with fresh air and a clean environment. I love my childhood home IVRI, Mukteswar. Suresh Dua

What a grand campus. The moment you enter you will surprised by the grandeur and the frolic greenery all around you. Fresh air, tall trees will surely make your walk to the central part of campus much easier. The campus is huge and very picturesque. A good number of bollywood movies have been shot at this campus. There are various museums inside and quite easy to get lost in the big campus, so just keep a track of the streets inside. If you have a private vehicle, roaming around the huge campus would be pretty easy, else walking is the only option I found. Click lots of pictures, lots of greenery and a beautiful serene environment. Relax and enjoy the wow architecture. Its magnanimous. !!

It is situated on the roadside from Roorkee to Haridwar near Jawalapur road amidst a lot of greenery around and a museum. You can visit the Museum inside. The artefacts in the museum are not exorbitant but all genuine and valuable. Currency, idols, paintings all are well kept and preserved. You must visit the museum to appreciate better. The university was started in 1902 by Swami Shraddhanand to revive the old Indian trend of study. This university offers various courses, starting from B.Sc to B. Tech and even it offers MBA. Students from various parts of the country learn there. The has got a vast library with a dedicated section for old and rare manuscripts. If you plan to make a visit you won't be disappointed. Gurukul tradition is kept alive and it throngs with competition from the latest Indian education system and other international schooling systems.
