We bought a piece of art from here many years ago, after a house move and re installation of our bronze fishes we managed to break one of the fish tails. Emailed the gallery and within a few days we were able to put up our replacement piece. Alex and his staff were so helpful and kind, could not recommend this gallery more!

From the uplifting facades to stunning interior, it’s an exceptional place of worship at the heart of the town. Dedicated in 1702 during the later Venetian rule it has fame for a darker deed carried out in its precincts. This was the assassination in 1831 of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first ruler of the newly independent Greek State, by his political enemies. A gorgeous nave is truly inspiring. Festooned with ornateness, it leads to the exceptional iconostasis that is embellished with holy imagery. A glorious Pantocrator is at the dome apex. A deep azure ceiling is bejewelled with stars, a marvellous celestial vista.

One of the best places to get your kids. It has it all; Library, shows at the Planetarium dome, store to buy educational gifts, café...! Not sure whether also English-speaking shows are played, thought. I haven't been to a Planetarium - anywhere - that didn't amaze me. They always are people & tourist oriented so buildings and people working there are always at their best. Have seen multiple shows with my 8y old daughter and keep coming back in every opportunity. Possibility for online ticket purchase - don't bother printing them on paper, just keep the PDF handy on your mobile (QR scanning). Ideal to spend a day with your kid(s) "half" there and "half" at the SNFCC (Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center) across the other side of Syngrou Av.
