We stumbled upon Bistro Ivanita late on a February evening. The setting, at dusk in the village, at the edge of the duck pond is very quaint. Anyway eight of us descended on the place. The lady and gentleman who seem to own the place got to work to feed us after our days skiing. I've suspicion we may have eaten everything they had. I think all the food had been prepared by the lady of the house and was all the better for it. As well as the mains, she produced some very fine salads and exceptional home made pickles. The prices were very reasonable, the food was served with care; the whole experience was memorable. We promised to go back the next evening and when we arrived two parking places had been bulldozed in the snow for our cars. Now that's service.
Owned by the Bobby's Bar Borovets team, the Flowers is a small friendly bar / restaurant in the pedestrian area of Samokov town. With plenty of outside seating and a friendly atmosphere, there is no better place to sit in the sun whilst you watch the worl
I had late lunch here with some pasta and beer and really liked it. The food was good and the staff friendly. The prices were moderate so I'd come here again.

We read the reviews and went each day we were there (four days). On the 4th day, it was just too busy and Peter reluctantly couldn't accommodate us, but we understood. The place is small but that's part of the appeal. The other appeal is the excellent food and affordable drinks. the garlic potato was divine, the garlic bread rolls excellent, the pizza superb, the spinach and cheese dish delicious. An open fire greeted us on every occasion, alongside a genuine warmth from the staff. Even when tables were 'booked', they attempted to fit people in, even for a short stay. You MUST book for the evenings if you go in busy weeks, as everyone now knows about this gem, but late afternoon, you can chance it and get lucky. Super place.
A Bulgarian restaurant, situated in a unique spot between the forest and along the river. We offer a varied cuisine with Bulgarian influences, vegetarian options, barbecue, (mid)Eastern cuisine.
the location is nice a lot of green nearby, a playground for children as wellbut the food is very average and the service doesn't deserve a tip
The decor is strange, very formal. The service slow, as if the staff couldn't quite be bothered. However, the food was good and made up for the other quirks. Perhaps the oddest thing? From outside you have no idea if it is open or even a restaurant!
Shopska Sresha is a lovely traditional restaurant. We got there accidently and were surprised to find a restaurant with a hugh menu of Bulgarian traditional food. The food was great(we had only vegetarian dishes so we don't know about the meat) the prices where low and the size of the meals were big. Afterwe ate, the owner sat with us and adviced us about where to travel to. Highly recommended!
We arrived on horseback thanks to Horse Riding Butch riding school in Borovets. It was a great experience to tie up the horses and sit on the verandah having traditional Bulgarian food (mish mash & dill potatoes) watching the world go by. We were even able to photgraph a kestrel that was hunting just over the road. If you are out walking, riding or cycling it is well worth calling in and is quite walkable in the evening from Samokov if you are up for a stroll.

Travelled to Borovets in Feb 2019 and ate here on one night. Overall food was average at best especially compared to previous visits and bizarrely the various courses didnât all come out anywhere near together i.e. me and my daughter got our starters 15 minutes before the other people did, the mains came out at varied intervals and some people had ordered portions of chips which came out 10 minutes before their main meals, one person didnât get their main until after all the other people had finished. The duck trilogy which is normally fantastic was overcooked and so a big disappointment. It was a Friday night and so it was busy, but we felt as if we were getting short changed. Weirdly my starter, the trout ceviche was fantastic unlike other courses. Atmosphere and décor is good and waiting on staff very friendly but the food/service is not a patch on what it has been in the past. However prices are still very reasonable compared to the ski resort prices you pay so maybe itâs worth trying it midweek when they are quieter but personally we probably wonât go back unless things change.

We went there because of tge excellent TripAdvisor rating and didn't get disappointed. The food was local style and some of it seemed a bit unusual, but we took it as local specifics. We missed some dressings, but all in all we had a good meal. The bread was the best of all - very tasty and freshly baked.
