Reviews on Dutch food in Vorden, Gelderland Province, The Netherlands. Vorden is a former municipality and a town in the eastern Netherlands, about 10 kilometres south-east of Zutphen. On 1 January 2005 the municipality merged with Hummelo en Keppel, Steenderen, Hengelo en Zelhem, to form the new municipality Bronckhorst.

This resturant (and small hotel) is rather of the beaton track We found it while on a hike. We only stayed for a small lunch which was very nice. We were welcomed by the owners. The menu was typical for a dutch lunch resturant. (Tosties, Omlet, croquets...)They have several large rooms with lots of tables. At this time of the year it was not very busy, but I suspect it is a busy place in the summer.
Een Sfeervol Pannenkoekhuis Gelegen In De Mooie Achterhoek Waar Wij De Pannenkoeken Nog Ambachtelijk Bakken.
Because we still are totally settled in our new home town Vorden (the kitchen equipment is still hidden in the mountain of moving boxes) we decided to eat out once more tonight. Since you do not always want an full meal, we decided for some pancakes in this restaurant. Our daughter had the apple - cinnamon, my wife the apple - bacon and I had the shoarma extra pancake.... they were all good.... since our appetite is quite big due to longs days of emptying boxes, we were considering a second (we hadn't eaten all day, not even breakfast), but in normal situations the serving is enough for a light meal. We are definitely going to return here!!!

We recently moved to the town Vorden and during this process I had the pleasure of dining here several times. Everything is good and better. The fried Camembert, the fried mushrooms.... very good. And the main courses: Tournedos, Schnitzel, Spare ribs... I can recommend all too....This is definitely going to be one of our favorite places to visit. That is the only thing "bad" you can say about it: if you are going to eat here very often, you might want more excellent choices

The main reason people visit Vorden - not far from Zutphen - in the so-called 'Achterhoek' (a 'rear corner' of southeast Gelderland in The Netherlands where that country abuts German) is for its rest and calm, the seven or eight castles which ring the town, and possibly also the local vineyards (!). The town itself is rather nondescript, but right in the centre at the cross-roads is this pleasant restaurant 'De Rotonde'.Biking in the area I stopped here for lunch, and pleasant it was indeed. Utterly friendly and efficient service under a huge chestnut tree (see photo). A delicious and well-filled chicken salad (see photo), splashed down with some quite passable rosé and free water! Of course also the requisitie bread and butter. Highly recommended on your visit to the area! Ah! Yes! and do go out to savor the local wines.

Vorden, surrounded by an astounding number of beautiful old castles, some of which cater lodging, has in its center a long established well known and well equipped family hotel: Bakker. The staff wil do everything to make you feel at home: show you nice routes for your reconnaissance bike trips, pour you a good beer, or serve you a proper dinner at a reasonanable price. Rooms are excellent and quite (there are appartment buildings in the garden, and very luxurious rooms in a new part across the road), the beds comfortable. What else do you need. Bakker makes the perfect stop on any discovery trip in the "Achterhoek", a perfect choice.

We drank two cappuccinos with apple pie in this restaurant annex grand café in the centre of the nice village of Vorden. Near the historic church. Perfect quality and very price worth. Very recommendable. Nice mixture of old and modern. You sit on former school chairs. Good place to relax and to read a newspaper. The host and owner is strongly involved. Managed like a good family business.

Cozy and homely genietcafé. Large play area for small children with durable wooden toys. Separate lounge with library for seeking peace. Large terrace for our monument. Exhibition and art. Homely interior and fully organic cuisine. Within 60 seats, 48 out
Location is superb in a quiet garden courtyard. Good weather that day certainly helped but I can see how I can enjoy the place even on a gloomy day. My friend and I both had the croquette on bread, which was very nice. The selection was not huge but adequate. Service was good. We felt welcomed and our orders were taken promptly with patience to explain the Dutch menu, and the food was served without too much of a wait. I can see myself coming back here again.Beste Vortexz,Hartelijk dank voor uw feedback. Leuk om te lezen en graag tot ziens!
