Erve Kots not only offers a traditional Pancake restaurant but recently opened a unique alacarte restaurant called 'Hoofdkwartier van de Prins'. Food is prepared using a so-called 'Josper Oven' (a charcoal oven). That, and the use of predominantly locally sourced products, resulted in an unforgettable culinary experience. On our recent visit we tried both (as well as their B&B facility) and were blown away by the quality, the atmosphere, the surroundings and the owner's care for our well-being. What a stunning place; what a brilliant experience.

The location of this restaurant is very particular. It's in a countryside full of green. I've been here with my family and i took the 3 courses meal (34 â¬). I got deer as appetizer and lamb as main course. They were really delicious. This place is famous for white asparagus that are very good. In addition the Wine is very good, i got Sirah a french Wine.
Veel personeel achter de balie. Slechts een deel heeft ook echt een taak. Geen gezellige sfeer (ook personeel onderling). Het eten is prima. Friet is wel vrij klein. Complimenten voor de hygiënische manier van werken.
A clean restaurant doesn't make up for a thick black hair in the maincourse that was an insult to all vegerarians world wide anyway. Also the dodgy wine looked more like oil spill than anything else. Horrible experience!
I've been yesterday to the restaurant in the lunch time with my family and a group of friends, totally 11 persons. We've been served by a waitress with dark hair and she was wearing glasses. She was very rude and unprofessional. For 11 people she brought a single menu. I went to ask her for a menu in English and she told me in English to use my phone in order to translate the menu she gave me and that was after she claimed she doesn't speak English. Anyway we placed our orders for 10 persons and we've been given 3 sets if cutlery which she slammed on the table. When one of my friend ask her to repeat something she effectively rolled her eyes. After all this is doesn't matter the quality of food or the prices , the rude service was enough. I won't be back and I don't recommend. I mention wasn't busy.

After asking the watchman at my friend's hotel where we might find a resturant with true Dutch cuisine, we were told about t' Zwaantje or "the Swan" about a three block hike from the hotel. We were celebrating my friend's last night in Amsterdam after attending a conference there in June. We were told to make a reservation. The watchman called ahead for us and we were on the list to be seated in the next 30 minutes. When we arrived, the resturant was definitely crowded and animated! We took two seats next to another couple from the States and enjoyed interesting conversation. The service was good. The food was wonderful! We received a lot of food for the price! The atmosphere was festive and lively. It definitely was an excellent meal with plenty of vegetables! The meat was stewed in an amazing wine sauce. The applesauce with the meal was to die for! The atmosphere was definitely fun yet we were able to hold a great conversation over a glass of red wine as we reflected on the conference and our time in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, there was no room for desert! Will definitely return next time we are in Amsterdam and be sure to have the desert!

It's unlikely you'll end up going to Lichtenvoorde as a tourist unless you have an interest in Dutch history military or otherwise. You're close to the German border and there's a lot of space unlike the west of the country. However, if you do end up here and you're in the mood for something different Drank- en Spijslokaal Markant offers a 3, 4 or 5 course surprise menu...We ended up in Markant after my uncles funeral last January. The consensus was to take the middle of the road, not 3, not 5 but 4 courses...You can indicate your preferences. But we eat it all, always so the instructions were simple: bring the food.In our case it included thinly sliced smoked salmon and cod, a pan fried piece of sea bass, a beef and pasta dish and an elaborate dessert. I loved the smoked duo of sea fish, the pan fried fish with the accompanying vegetables and potatoes was well executed. I'm afraid I didn't really understand the beef and pasta dish. I assume it is based on pasta and meatballs but all I really want is lots of fibre with my piece of red meat Even if you'd make your own pasta...The decor is informal with a bit of sparkle. Dutch informal. The service is smiling, friendly and acts knowledgeable which is always refreshing. There were no long waits between the courses. Didn't try any of the beers but the white wine was perfectly fine.I'd go and do that it again. Who doesn't like a surprise?

Lunch, drinks, dinner and party location. A good cup of coffee, a fresh lunch, a tasty drink or maybe a surprisingly pure and culinary dinner?
Been here with friends on a thursday and it was again worth the visit. Relaxed and good atmosphere.Witte their concept that you can choose also smaller portions you always take two parts when you cannot choose.
Zeer nette bediening,,,zeer nette kamer ,,,zeer goed ontbijt ,,zeer goede prijskwaliteit verhouding,,zeer zeker voor herhaling vatbaar en een aanrader voor een ieder.
