This is a very old and well known place in Blaricum, Can get very busy on Thursdays and Fridays. When you are not in a hurry and are in for a relaxed evening, you'll enjoy this place.Service with a smile and the kitchen is really good.

We had lunch at Theetuin Eemnes. Unfortunately the weather was not that good and we had to sit inside. Outside, there is a large garden, a glass house with a small shop and it is also a wedding location. The service was very friendly and efficient. The food was simple, but excellent quality. All in all a very nice experience and we will certainly return in summer!

Friendly place. Has a wide choice of dishes, most of them good. Friendly staff and nice views of the water. Desserts are slightly too sweet, but mains were good.

I have dined last winter in this restaurant with Dutch friends who took me here. You need the car, I presume taxi from Amsterdam would be quite expensive. Over all, great, professional service . Somehow I think it lacks of great Dutch sense of Humor, but staff was knowledgeable of wine and food .Other issue was a slow service/ restaurant was busy, but we needed to wait almost 45 minutes of our food. Thank goodness company was good.Food: very good. My soup (Hot)was unbelievable good, Lamp was tender and tasty, desert (even it was just ice cream, but I am Ice cream fan) was very good. Wine recommendation fro m waiter good. Not a typical expensive recommendation but reasonable price for good wine. Over all experience on my second visit: Good place which I would recommend Not your tourist type of the restaurant, but a proper, good DUTCH restaurant with great food and Wine. When Dutch do something well, boys they do it Well. Thank you Ps Total Bill Euro 244/ 4 people each had ,3 aperatives, 2 courses, 3 deserts, and 2 bottles of Sparkling water and one bottle of white wine !

This grand cafe has a nice ambiance. Service is friendly. The three course dinner was tasty. A pity with the main course there were little vegetables. The courses were nicely done up and appealed to the eye. A bottle of wine is expensive, more than average.

We had lunch here and the quality is very good. The staff are very friendly and helpful in anyway they can. We witnessed a problem with other guests and that was well taking care off. They also serve dinners aswell and for the little ones is plenty to choose from.Certaily a place to come back to for lunch or maybe just a cup of coffee!

This is the best ice cream in Netherlands, perhaps the world. Yes, there is gelati in Italy, but that is a different set of ingredients (mainly ice and milk and natural non-artificial flavours. Dutch ice cream is pure raw milk made with flavours. In most places you get artificial flavours and low quality milk. The price can run from Euros 3-5 for one or two scoops. At De Hoop, you can savour the flavours while standing in line for ten-fifteen minutes and build up an appetite. When you finally get insie, five cheerful young Dutch school children (and occasionally the owners) serve you with the speed of a New York City Fast Food Chef. You pile away a Kilo of ice cream for Euros 8.50 or individual cones with one or two scoops for just Euro 1.50 or 2.5 for two. That's half price to the garbage they serve in most ice cream salons worldwide. Only the Moonlight Inn at Victoria Beach, Manitoba on Lake Winnipeg in Canada can beat that. Supplied with Dutch quality Ice Cream, the line ups can be longer on a warm sunny day, but the cost and quality are unbeatable.Thank you for the very good review. The things you mentioned are the exact things we try to achieve. See you soon back at the ''Hoop". Regards, Caroline Kooij

We stayed in the Fletcher Hotel in Huizens Nautisch Kwartier in March 2015. After one night of eating near the hotel, we had to escape from the Vegas style fakeness of this 'Dutch Fishing village' and looked for somewhere in town instead! The Beau Geste was great because it offered vegetarian options even though it was a French restaurant. My veggie husband didn't fancy the main meal of vegetable tarts, but was able to make up a meal from the â¬4 plates that the restaurant serves, accompanied by a generous portion of chips for â¬3. We saw others ordering these plates tapas style, and there were really good options amongst them if you ate meat and fish. I choose a pork dish with mushroom sauce and rosemary potatoes which was very tasty. The fact that this restaurant was full in March, whilst the more flash eateries on the Nautisch Kwartier were mainly empty is testament to the fact that the Beau Geste offers good tasty cooking with no gimmicks at prices that don't make you squirm. Not haute cuisine maybe, but a filling, pleasant meal served by friendly staff.

The location is very nice, the waitresses are friendly, the design is cozy but the food disappointed me. I could make it myself. I go out to eat because I want to try something special and delicious. For 52 euros we got 2 pieces of grilled meat, 2 asparagus each, fries and salad, 1 bottle of water and 2 glass of wine. The plate looked very poor. I really wish we stayed at home and cooked ourselves saving the money. I recommend you to improve the menu, because just fries is sooo cheap. Add some other sort of potatoes, rice, porridge, decorate the food originally, add some sauce and grilled vegetables and the place will deserve to exist!
