Shene Distillery is focused on producing a world-class whisky made from the finest Tasmanian ingredients and pristine waters. Whisky produced at Shene is proudly milled, mashed, fermented, distilled, matured and bottled in Pontville, Tasmania.
David and Anne are wonderful hosts. We arrived close to closing time and enjoyed a tasting and very informative tour with David. They went out of their way to welcome us and spent hours entertaining and explaining the operation, despite being well over knock-off time. We throughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to our next visit. Many thanks.

We are a family owned distillery producing small batch gin and whisky. When you come to visit us you will meet us right in the distillery where we work and you will meet the people who actually create the products and who will share details of the process with you as you enjoy a tasting. We suggest you call ahead as sometimes circumstances mean we have an unexpected interruption to our advertised hours.
My new wife and I fell in love with the gin and whiskey instantly. Experiance was incrediable too, tasting was free because we bought a gin and Rex included another speical Hemp Gin tasting free. Best sloe gin and whiskey Ive ever tried. We went back and bought another two bottles after hellfire. Highly recommended.

An award winning craft distillery situated on the pristine East Coast of Tasmania. We produce Single Malt Whisky and Gin
We called in even though when we looked up address on Google it said they were closed. So glad we did as the distillery was open. We were shown around the craft distillery by Cam, the Distiller. His knowledge in the Craft is immense, and the tastes of his gins, and of his whiskey is WONDEROUS. The gin has a juniper and citrus taste and they make a pink gin by adding raspberry. Beautiful taste. Now, the three single malt whiskeys, rum casked, port casked, or sherry casked, are each worthy of Gold and Silver Medals. They are each wonderful to taste. The Spring Bay Distillery is a bit of a secret, but well worth the effort. We came away with a great whiskey, and a gin, for the Summer.

Launceston Distillery is located in the historic Hangar 17 at Launceston Airport where we hand craft Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky. We are open weekdays 10 AM till 4 PM for tasting and sales. Tours can be arranged by appointment.
Husband & I visited 4/3/20 and we were spoiled with a one to one tour with Chris. He was full of information on the distillery workings and hangar 17. Great to get up close to the stills and view the work in progress. Had to buy a bottle following a tasting session! Definitely recommend a visit:)

The best whisky tour I have done. It runs you through the whole process while it is happening and lets you taste it at various stages. Fantastic tour.

An amazingly knowledgeable guide on Friday, 17th May 2019. Very impressive tour of the distilling process, followed by tear producing tasting of the whisky, then bottled my own Distillers Choice single malt limited edition (bottle #175), cask #6306.10. Hardest part was deciding what glasses and bottles to purchase, without going over the weight allowance for the flight back to Brisbane. Highly recommend this tour!

In the rustic surrounds of an original apple shed built in 1942, learn about the Huon's fascinating apple heritage told through the eyes of Willie Smith. A range of delicious ciders is available at cellar door and the café serves a simple menu of the finest regional products. A small providore will enable local producers an outlet in the Huon Valley where they can showcase their products and produce to visitors to the State.
Great place for a Sunday afternoon, or any other day for some great drinks, great atmosphere and great food. Love it.
