Okanagan Spirits is Western Canada's oldest craft distillery spanning over a decade in the production of award-winning B.C. spirits. Internationally acclaimed as North America's only designated World Class Distillery (World Spirits Awards), our portfolio includes a range of spirits from Vodka, Whisky and Gin, to Liqueurs and Brandies (Eau de Vie) as well as Canada's first genuine Absinthe.
We visited the distillery in Vernon and the owner gave us a private tour and history. The space, itself, is beautiful--a combination of a retro-steampunk and pioneer vibe due in no small part to the gorgeous brass, steel and copper stills and tanks. The owner gave us an overview of the history of fruit and grain production in the Okanagan and explained how virtually all of the ingredients for the myriad spirits produced by them are locally grown. After the 30-minute tour, we tasted several of their products at the bar: award-winning Scotch-style whisky, Bourbon-style (we really liked the BLK BRBN!), Vodkas, Gins, and Liqueurs. All were well-made, smooth, and delicious spirits. The Raspberry Liqueur was out of this world. We took home several bottles and some very low-priced gift sets that will make excellent Christmas gifts. They even gave us bottles of their own hand sanitizer, produced and donated to front-line workers and the general public during the Covid-19 crisis. Unlike many of wineries that are actually owned by global conglomerates, this is a truly local operation and a world class one at that. Of the many winery and distillery tours we have taken all over the world, this one rates very highly, indeed!

Pioneers in Craft Distilling since 2005 in British Columbia, we produce fine European style fruit brandies, V.S.O.P. wine brandy ("Lady of the Cask"), and fruit liqueurs. A true family business, we offer award winning spirits and liqueurs in our boutique style tasting room in Penticton on the beautiful Naramata Bench. Master Distiller Jorg Engel uses sun-ripened locally grown fruit, grapes and wine. In 2017 our products won 2 Double Gold, one Gold and one Silver medal at the SIP Northwest Spirits Competition. In 2019 we got 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze at the Canadian Artisan Spirits Competition. Please visit our tasting room for a truly unique experience!
We took some friends on a distillery tour of the South Okanagan and Maple Lead Spirits was by far the best experience. Barbara made all the difference, even though there was another couple sampling with us she made everyone feel like it was a personal experience. Her knowledge and general passion for the spirits she is presenting to us made for a very memorable experience. And I haven’t even mentioned the spirits. A good variety distilled in the German tradition made us feel like we were back in Bavaria. Just a note, the Maple Liqueur makes an excellent martini when chilled and paired with some Okangan Vodka.

Wayward Distillery is a True Craft distillery located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. Balancing tradition with creativity, Wayward is the first distillery in Canada using honey as the base for all of its spirits. With this as a curious starting point, the only obvious direction to take is an unpredictable one. Our signature Unruly Vodka and Unruly Gin are beautiful, hand-crafted examples of what can happen when unruly people meet unruly bees. Couple this with our seasonally changing, ultra-small batch experimental Wayward Order Line and you will truly understand our need to break moulds and blaze trails. Welcome to our Wayward life. Welcome to Wayward Distillery.
Their spirits are excellent, if you do anything in Courtney, go here. Perfect rainy day activity and next time I will bring my lady friend.

Wild Life Distillery is a craft distillery situated in Canmore, Alberta. Our spirits are produced, distilled and bottled on site from Albertan prairie grains. The distillery offers delicious craft cocktails, tastings, and bottle sales. Open daily, no appointments needed. Come and visit!
We didnt actually get a chance to visit the Distillery itself but had the chance to buy some of their liquid courage at a local liquor store, in Downtown Canmore. Its our hands down new favorite Gin. My Wife is more of the Gin drinker, but I love a good Gin martini every now and then. This stuff is putting big names to shame. I wont name other Gins because I believe Wildlife is killing the game. However, I will say they have some strong competition with Park Distillery in Banff... ;) We crushed a bottle of their Wildlife Gin while visiting last week and got a bottle of their Barrel Aged Gin to take home back to Arizona. We haven't opened that yet but are super excited to taste.

Cocktail Time! If you know me well you’d know I am craft cocktail obsessed! When I visit a new city I always make a list of the best cocktails to try and then I try and recreate them at home, but ya know what? They never taste the same! I never have all the ingredients necessary to create the perfect cocktail! No more! Roots & Wings is a distillery in Langley and not only do they make their own spirits, but they also create delicious (seriously, so good!) craft cocktails that you can sip on in between trying out all the different spirits. The best part? Now they have a Craft Cocktail Club that provides you with all the ingredients to make a fancy cocktail at home for your family and friends (or a bunch for myself – muahaha!). No more trying to source all the bar ingredients to make new and exciting drinks, now you can get your own box (which includes one of their very own bottles of spirits!!!) and create magical drinks on your own without having to own a massive collection. Just follow the recipe and whip up a few cocktails sure to impress everyone, perfect if your into mixology and experimenting behind the bar, and a great gift idea, I’m thinking a house warming for sure! Each box will include enough ingredients to serve about 6 cocktails. Here we have the Sidekick Cider box. This is a cocktail I would surely make again, I’ve already made it 3 times now. It was super simple to make, packed with fresh and local ingredients, a fun garnish and an Autumn theme! Each craft cocktail box includes a bottle (375 ml) of craft spirit, recipe and all the ingredients to create a signature cocktail. This box included a bottle of Rootside Ginger Beer Mix, Triple Jim’s apple cider and their own signature bottle of Sidekick Whiskey along with some cinnamon sticks for garnish. Each box is somewhere between $65 and $75 plus taxes which is a steal since it includes a full bottle of booze too! Be sure to visit them in store to try their spirits. They are artisan, gluten free and homegrown and sure to tickle your fancy. They have some fun ones like cranberry & orange vodka, a coffee infused vodka, a cinnamon & honey whiskey to name a few! Be sure to check them out online to get some amazing cocktail recipes too!

Ironworks Distillery opened its doors to the public in June 2010. Situated in the old town of Lunenburg and residing in the building that used to be the old marine blacksmith shop, we create small batches of artisan spirits using produce from the Maritimes. We make vodka and brandy using Annapolis Valley apples, Pear Eau-de-vie, Rum, Gin and several delicious fruit liqueurs. Tastings are free. Please contact us to check on the tour availability.
Ironworks is an artisanal cute little distillery located in the historic port town of Lunenburg. My wife and I stopped in while we were visiting Lunenburg. We sampled several different liqueurs and vodka and loved all the sampling, especially the sweet blueberry liqueur. The shop was beautiful and well preserved. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this stop in Lunenburg!
