Tangalle (Sinhala තංගල්ල [ˈtaŋɡalːə], Tamil: தங்கல்லை) (also known as Tangalla) is a large town in Hambantota District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka, governed by an Urban Council. It is one of the largest towns in southern province. It is located 195 km (121 mi) south of Colombo and 35 km (22 mi) east of Matara. It has a mild climate, in comparison to the rest of the district, and sandy beaches.

The park is situated just south of the Central Highlands, of which escarpment brings about an enrapturing backdrop. Udawalawe National Park established in the year 1972 with the objective of protecting the catchment area of Udawalawe reservoir, which provides water for agriculture and hydro-power generation spreads over an area 30,821 resembling an African game park.

A large crowd assembled awaiting information regarding the choice of check in desk. The information was late incoming and when it did come two of the desks that were lit were closed as quickly as it opened but not before a dozen or so passengers had formed a line. The others were slow in getting organised. Before finally reaching the gate every passenger was subjected to three full bag and personal search. All passengers were kept waiting in an undersized gate waiting area until 10 minutes before the scheduled take off time despite the early arrival of the incoming aircraft. Transfer to the plane was done by bus to what must have been the most remote stand in the airport. This chaos reflected badly on our carrier - Tui Airways who were in no way to blame.

Sujith is such a good hearted guy. I know him from last year when he was my tuktuk driver around Tangalle and this year again he drove me to some places. I feel so safe in his tuktuk and he is very friendly and relaxed. Best driver I ever had on my travels! :)

Our tour started with the pick up from our hotel at Galle fort. Roshan was so friendly and extremely informative. Had a wonderful day with new friends, enjoying the scenery and hiking the Rainforest. This should be in everyone's list when visiting Sri Lanka. Loved the added bonus of Tea factory visit. Guide Wigitha made the day amazing. Although no rain in the rainforest ,this day made the hike a bit less slippery, the flora, fauna and the waterfall -- all made a lovely day. One of our Dreams was to swim under the waterfall, and we got a chance to do it here. Transportation was comfortable and efficient, and the lunch was delicious. Would highly recommend this tour and also this tour company.

We were lucky to do a 10 day tour with the driver-guide Anura "Claude", he was a very responsible man, a safe driver. The traffic in sri lanka is very crazy, but Anura made the travel hours safe.
