For those that seek a fairytale image of Transylvania, this day trip will reveal the story of medieval villages surrounded by thick forests, of majestic fortified churches, and of citadels that are inhabited to this day. A visit to Sighisoara is perhaps the best way to experience time travel. And no holiday can be complete without experiencing a little bit of the local life. A visit in the heart of a gypsy community will teach us about their traditions and about crafts that have been long gone from today’s world.

This is a very professional tour company! The first impressions were great as I got very fast replies to my e-mails when planning the trip from home. The day of the trip Calin gave us a small itinerary of the day on a piece of paper. That was very good to have and first time ever received in a tour. Calin is easy to get along with and to talk to. Nice and friendly attitude. He also knows the facts about the sights and he is good at explaining them in advance, so when you get to the place you have time to explore. Very professional service and highly recommended.

This tour will allow the clients to see the most known cave from Romania "The Bear's Cave " from Chiscau, a village situated at around 90 km away from Oradea. We will descend into the depths of the Bears Cave finding an extraordinary range of stalagmite and stalactite formations, coupled with traces of bears from many years ago. The cave was named so, as numerous "cave bears" (Ursus spelaeus) were found in this cave. The cave was visited by these large animals more than 15.000 years ago. But one day, a rock slide closed the entrance while more than 140 bears were still in the cave. Becoming hungry, the bears killed one another until all were dead. This story is told by their remains, tons of bear bones covering the floor of large parts of the cave with the marks of bear teeth.

My husband and I visited Oradea in early June and wanted to see not only some of the highlights of the city but also specific attractions. My parents grew up in Oradea and I wanted to see the Cris river (on whose banks my dad walked with his first girlfriend), the Jewish conservative synagogue and the place where the Jews were taken to the camps by train (now a park). Arin was highly personable, knowledgeable and flexible and made our tour a delightful experience. He started by showing us the fascinating Oradea citadel (a must-see), whose moat with hot water from thermal springs kept invaders at bay. It is believed to be the best preserved citadel in Europe built in the Renaissance style, erected between the years 1077-1095 by King Ladislau I. (In the beginning it was a fortified monastery, later it was transformed into a citadel, which became the headquarters of the Roman-Catholic Diocese of Oradea.) Arin then took us to the open market (really, it had some kind of a roof to protect u s from the elements), huge in size, and offering a great variety of beautiful produce, fruits and vegetables), and flowers. He then walked us through parts of the beautiful city and its varied architecture, pointing out all sorts of interesting things, and then walked with us, continuing to explain everything, to the sites we wanted to see, including some new ones that he thought we might want to see (he was right). Arin is a superb guide. His English is flawless, he is fun to be with, accommodating, helpful and dedicated to giving his clients the best possible experience. I recommend not only this particular walking tour (which, for us, was memorable), but also Arin as a guide. We felt so fortunate to have found him.

Turda Salt Mine it’s probably one of the most important and interesting places to see in Transylvania. According to the top of the most spectacular sights to see out there made by the site businessinsider.com, Turda Salt Mine is situated on the 22nd place. Salina Turda, located in Turda, Romania, is home to an underground theme park that's nestled inside one of the oldest salt mines in the world. Turda Gorge. The canyon is nearly 3 km long, with 300 m high walls sculpted in weathered limestone. Bring the camera because you will be impressed with the work that a river did inside a mountain in hundreds of millions of years. At first sight, you will see two rocky massifs, which were once one and which were separated by erosion of Jurassic limestone rock by the river
Inclusions: Bottled water, 1 LANGOS, 1 Activity inside the Salt Mine
Exclusions: Traditional Dinner in Rimetea Village

We made the day trip in 2019. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and the car was comfortable and clean. We dealt with Ilona, and she was very helpful in answering all our questions. We especially enjoyed the view of Sighisoara from the City Tower. We would highly recommend Rolandia if you're planning a trip to Transylvania.

Despite all the wonderful places I have seen, I must admit that the Apuseni (Western Carpathians) are the place I enjoy most every time my feet take me there. It is why I want to share their landscapes with as many people in search for an active, healthy and relaxing way of spending their time. Hiking in nature encompass real benefits for the body, mind and soul. That is why in my tours you will learn new things about these benefits, about the complex aspects of nature, you will learn the hiking techniques, how to use a compass and a map and we’ll talk about gear recommendations too. We’ll observe the landscapes, the flora and the fauna and, last but not least, we’ll enjoy an active day in the mountains and you will discover the stories and the legends of the area.
Inclusions: Transport and certified mountain guide - On request late lunch at a traditional guesthouse
Exclusions: Recommended gear, food for the trail
I have met Marius and the "Active Weekends" more than a year ago and since then I attended several hiking trips with him , one day trip or multiple days tur. Marius is an exemplary ture guide, very well prepared , careful on details. During our trips he is concerned about the safety of all participants and more than happy to share with you his love and passion for the mountains. Long story short, if you want to hike in the Apuseni mountains or anywhere in the Romanian mountains Marius is the best mountain guide that you can find. Thank you Marius, I am very glad that I met you, I learned a lot of interesting and useful things from you and is always a pleasure to hike with you. All the best !
