He is very well known within the trade and if you’re with Pete you are a VIP. Kom was our driver and shuttled is to and from airport and our adventures! He is a great driver I would not want to drive there!

This is the high water mark for authentic experiences I have encountered in Asia over the years. This is NOT a cooking class, this is FAR FAR more. The cooking component is maybe 30% of the experience. This is an immersive experience with a real rural family, inside their lovely home compound and gardens, learning about their history and way of life. You have tea, chew betelnut in their pavilions, wander the gardens nibbling on plants and herbs, and yes finally you all cook together outdoors on a clay pot / charcoal system like in the old school. Then you eat together. If you want a commercial, soulless, cookie-cutter cooking class, there are plenty. But this experience is far more comprehensive, soulful, and unforgettable.

4. Maeklong Railway Market, Tha Kha Floating Market And The Hidden Gems

Idaytrip

Follow the residences of Bangkok to explore the charming authentic markets outside of Bangkok, which takes place only during weekends. Starting with the train market in Mae Klong Railway Market, the trip brings you to one of Thailand’s most authentic floating market at Tha Kha village and to explore the rural life along the green canals. Donwai market at Tachin River in Nakorn Pathom is a must-visit for an exquisite foodie experience.

Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, Private transportation, Professional Guide, Entrance Fees, Paddle Boat Ride at Tha Kha Floating Market, Lunch, Bottled water, Accidental Insurance

Exclusions: Any personal expenses

I am throughly stoked that I chose Thai Tour Guide to go with. My guide was Joy, and we visited the Grand Palace, several temples around the area, stopped by for some pork satay at a local market which we walked around in, and visited the flower market where I picked up flowers for cheap! Also went on a canal tour and fed cat fish. Joy is a fabulous and knowledgeable guide who took time to answer my questions and cater to my requests. It was just us two on the tour so it was nice to have personalised service. From the moment I reached out to Thai Tour Guide, Chob, Seth and Joy were on the ball with pre-tour planning. Everything was really smooth sailing before and during the tour. I'm definitely calling on these guys again!

The tour was great and began with an early pickup from our hotel and then on to a larger, more comfortable bus. Locations, where we went, were really fascinating and we loved learning more about Thailand's history. The cruise was just the icing on top of an amazing trip, with everything you can eat lunch buffet. Highly recommended in Thailand for all tourists! I would certainly recommend my friends and family on this.

Aem, our tour guide, was super friendly and a pleasure to hang out with. She provided an overview of the history of Koh Madsum from when the pigs first arrived to its current popularity as a tourist destination. She even knew all the pigs by name and knew how to best pet the pigs. Hint, they love their belly rubs! From her words and actions it was obvious she cared for the pigs and wanted her guests to understand how to care for and enjoy them too. We next visited a secluded beach on Koh Madsum where you can relax in the crystal clear waters away from other tourists. The last stop was for snorkeling. It was disappointing to see other tour guides letting their guests stand on the coral reefs. Aem reminded us this is not a good practice and made sure we knew not to do that. I was proud that she scolded the other tour guide a bit for letting their guest do this. This tour operator really tries to minimize the negative environmental impacts caused by tourism and positively support the local community. Highly recommend you use them.
