Aswan is more idyllic than other cities in Egypt—located in southern Egypt, it’s a great place to explore that country’s epic history far away from the chaos of Cairo. Take a traditional wooden felucca around Elephantine Island and explore the ruins of the Temple of Khnum. We had a great experience in Egypt with our guides Mohammed in Cairo, and Rocky (Ragab) in Aswan and Luxor. Both were very knowledgeable in ancient Egyptian history, and modern culture. They spoke great English and answered any questions we had. I would definitely recommend them, along with Explore Plus to anyone interested in seeing the real Egypt.

The cruise was very well organised and everyone was super helpful and nice. Mohamed messaged me straight after booking and the cruise and made sure I felt welcomed from the go. He was waiting for us when we arrived at the airport and everyone did everything they could to make our life easier; they bought us a SIM card (as we needed one), they stopped at the pharmacy when we needed as well and provided us with water bottles in the van before visiting the temples. They were superb! Our guide, Shady, was amazing! He was really patient (with all the photos we took) and we could tell he was really passionate about the History of the temples we visited. He spoke Portuguese which for us was really good as our mother doesn’t speak English. We loved him and we really appreciate the fact Mohamed went above and beyond to find us a guide who spoke our language and was so knowledgeable. The only thing I would add is that I think the cruise should include at least one water bottle per meal but we knew drinks weren’t included in the cruise, this is just an idea for improvement.

Such a huge complex, great place to explore! We spent about two hours walking around and enjoying the site. Even if there are busloads of people, you can see everything well. If somebody ask to take your photo with your camera or give you a tour, you will be asked for a tip, you can kindly say no.

At the end of April we were on holiday in Sharm el Sheikh. Our group wanted to visit the city and, by luck, we booked a city tour with the Sharm Smile Tour. We liked it very much. We were all delighted with this experience. There were wonderful few hours, which passed very quickly. We really appreciated the fact that our guide speaks English very well and gave us a lot of interesting information. We enjoyed the tour, we have beautiful memories and the joy that we had a good guide and all the organization of the tour was carefully done.
