I was with a group that biked here from the south of the island. It isn't a large operation, so it took them a while to put together all of our meals, but it was wonderful food with excellent, fresh ingredients. Some dishes seemed better priced that others--e.g., 120 dk for beef but 75 for a sausage, each with side dishes? The beer is surprisingly good; I had low expectations based on reviews I had read elsewhere, but here in fresh bottles (and sunshine on the patio) it tasted great. A little shop in the brewery didn't catch my eye and I didn't see much of the brewing operation. But overall, we really enjoyed our break at the Samso brewery.

The Boutcher Christiansen is one of the most famous shops at Fanø. Here we had some excellent burgers fresh made and going together with freshly pressed orange juice. We also bought some of their many delicacies. We can really recommend.

Had a nice lunch here on one of the sunny days of last summer. The seafood is excellent - especially the local flat kinds.Location is special - with the restaurant being on in the actual harbor - with only a few meters to the water.

We had our lunch at Smokehouse Langør. We tried Smoked prawns and "Fiskefrikedelle" with Remoulade. Very well made and a good lunch. Service is OK. You have to order and prepay at the desk. Sit and eat with a nice view of the small harbour and Kattegat in the background. Nice. The beer is so so though. Harboe disguised as Gourmetbryggeriet ==> not good.

På terrasen en varm sommerdag med udsigt til dove havn. Skønt. Vi spiste faktisk ikke kun fisk. Det blev til friske fiskefiletter, store varme fiskefrikadeller - og så fik vi paraserbøf, som var aldeles delikat. Anrettet lækkert, rigeligt med tilbehør og dejligt kød. Yummi. Det var godt

2 years ago I also reviewed Dokken restaurant... and it is still very good. Tuesdays and wednesdays they still have good wholesome danish meals fried pork (stegt flæsk) or biksemad on the menu for very reasonable 89 kr.The location is great - with great views - and the charming old fishing vessel in the restaurant.The best thing is the service though. Always friendly, smiling (sometimes humming/singing) and as all waiters should be. I have been in many "fancy" places where the staff could learn a lot from here.My girlfriend had a rubarb / sparkling water drink when we were there for dinner - and we forgot to ask where the rubarb was from. We came by the next day to ask - and he showed us the Rynkeby Rubarb lemonade bottle with a big smile and suggested where we could probably find it.

It would be so simple, and for some, also tempting to create a genuine tourist-trap in this charming place. The present owner has not doneWe were here for lunch and had som very original danish âSmorrebrodâ open sandwiches . All products super fresh and presented excellent. Very nice service and friendly prices . Highly recommended

We arrived toward the end of the summer season, but the Hotel and rooms were immaculatly presented with all the summer facilities still available for Guests. Sauna, hot tub and spa. The Staff were great!!! Friendly, always available and willing to go the extra yard to make your stay enjoyable. The atmosphere is totally relaxed with breakfast and Dinner timings flexible within reason. The food!!!! OMG!!!! I started calling Jakob the Chef, " Gandolf the food Wizard". Super, super cuisine. Great location, Great value, Great people, Great weekend getaway. Thank you all at the Strandlyst, and see you very soon.

Modern and exclusive restaurant af the harbor in the city of Ballen, located on the island of Samsø. Service was good and welcoming. However, potatoes served with the burger needed a lot more roasting before they were ready to consume, this was the case for all seven of us coming to eat at the restaurant.

Hyggelig restaurent som ligger lige ned til havnen i Ballen, Samso. Maden er lavet med omhu og kreativitet af hovedsagligt danske og ikke mindst oens ravare.

Lovely restaurant with a beautiful view on Ballen harbor. The food is tasty and quite traditional, although maybe not the most original one. We missed some bread and butter before/along with our main course. Very much recommended anyway! :)
