Nice restaurant under the tower in Telc. It has a couple of cosy rooms indoors and a nice long patio overlooking a garden. It serves regional Czech food, but with a slight twist. It is a bit more inventive than other of the traditional restaurants in the area. Their kebabs are really very good. The meat is tender and juicy and very flavourful. What they call "rich garnish" is an abundant side of shaved fresh carrots, a tasty cole slaw, some purple cabbage, lettuce, corn and peas. Their honey cake is excellent. Friendly service and very good value.

Really charming, cute Central European traditional tavern - similar in style to many across the border in Austria and Bavaria. I enjoyed my duck and sauerkraut although the heavy dumplings they were served with are probably more of an acquired taste. Great Gambrinus draught beer and Moravian white wine. Very friendly service. The bill came to a very reasonable 289 Crowns, about A$14.
Just a 10 minutes walk from Telc town centre is a hidden gem.The Na Zabinci restaurant has no sign, just images of 2 frogs hanging from the side wall with an arrow indicating there is a beer garden at the back.(terasa)The interior is shabby and in need of refurbishment-the chairs are tatty. At a first glance this is just a common pub for the locals. The food, however,is great-big portions with a decent amount of vegetables.Ate there twice and enjoyed both meals immensely-also very good value for money compared to the more sophisticated Telc restaurants at the square.Asked for a business card and the photo on it did not reflect the marketing potential of this place.I suggest the owner places a clear sign outside his restaurant and market the frog image better.Unless,of course,he wishes to keep this restaurant exclusively for locals!

Below average, we had 4 courses and the only one which was bit satisfying was the "svickova", typical representant of Czech cuisine. The rest, salad with goat cheese, soup, and Ceasar salad were very sloppy and very poor. The prices are comparable to top restaurants, but this one is very very far away. Service was O. K.

Took the scenic route from Prague to Vienna and stopped at this beautiful square at around lunch time. Were warmly received, language barrier and all; and ordered the pork steak/chop. What arrived was one of the biggest surprizes ever. A succulent and tender piece of pork, smothered in fried onion and with a healthy helping of chips. Washed down with a local draft beer, this was my best meal in the Czech Republic. My son had a regular steak which he claims was just as good.

I visit this restaurant every time I am in the area and every time its just awesome. If you are looking for something special and uncommon, try it. Yes, sometimes part of stuff as part timers could seem annoyed and unfriendly, but it is rare and was not so this time. Love it!

We booked a table well in advance for Easter Monday but on arrival we were told the Easter menu wasn't available and neither were some of the traditional dishes. In the end we settled for schnitzel and fried cheese. The food was very good but not what we expected for Easter lunch.

MalomÄstsks restaurace s Äeskou kuchynà bez nápadu a se spoustou smažených jÃdel, toÄenými Svijany a kofolou, odmÄÅenými servÃrkami a tak dále. PÅesné to zde dostanete. Na druhou stranu, jÃdlo nebylo nijak Å¡patné, porce byly velké, ceny za polednà menu i nápoje rozumné, takže oukej.
Sometimes the outside look can be deceiving as it was this time. Surprisingly good food and very pleasant staff.

Quick and professional service. Calm and friendly atmosphere, Good quality chicken filet. A little bit sticky rice, but I was there late in the evening, just before closing time, so understandable. Useful vegetable selection. NIce arrangement of the food at the plates, artistic. English speaking staff. Many female guests... Hmmm... Go there.
