I had a terrific trip touring Mystras, Sparta, Delphi, Meteora, and Thermopylae with my guide Nikos! Nikos put together a custom itinerary with places in Greece that I had not yet visited. The highlight of my trip was visiting the clifftop monasteries at Meteora. We had marvelous weather for picture taking, and Nikos, knew where the best spots were. Hiking up several of the monasteries was also a unique experiences, and Nikos knew the best ones suitable for me. An AWESOME trip!!

This is a trip to a real Greek island that is a lot more authentic than any of the famous and over touristy ones such as Mykonos & Santorini. At the same time very cosmopolitan while maintaining its magic and peacefulness due to the presence of the locals and the absence of any kind of vehicle! A different approach to the popular 3 island cruise allowing you to really spend your time on the "important" island instead of 90% sailing with very limited time on each island. On Hydra, everything inspires tranquility, relaxation, and the gentle way of life. It is not surprising that artists find inspiration in the atmosphere on Hydra. We arrange everything for you to create a great day experience. Your tour leader will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the port to board the boat. A two-hour ride past Aegina & Poros islands to reach amazing Hydra! Your tour leader will show you the island & its history as local would! It seems like a more pricy tour, but is it really?

My son, daughter-in-law and I had booked a 14-day private tour of Athens, Crete, Santorini, Milos and Naxos with Private Tours Greece from May 1-14, 2020 and made a 30% down payment by credit card on 02/06/2020. All interactions with Private Tours Greece went smoothly and were professional and friendly. Then, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and my son's illness, on 03/13/2020, well ahead of the deadline for a fully-refundable cancellation, I asked Private Tours Greece to release all reservations it had made on our behalf, but to hold my deposit, in the hope that we might be able to reschedule our trip later in 2020 or in the spring of 2021. Private Tours Greece complied with my request and issued a credit voucher for the down payment I had made. As the pandemic continued to surge and Greece remained closed to visitors from the United States, on 4/17/2021, after essentially extending an interest-free loan to Private Tours Greece for over a year, I requested that my down payment be fully refunded and credited to the same credit card account to which it had been charged. Thereupon, Private Tours Greece staff claimed that the request for refund had been "forwarded" ... as it turned out later, to Alpha Bank. Nothing happened for a week. I then engaged in repeated e-mail exchanges with Private Tours Greece staff, only to be subjected to a stream of equivocations, obfuscations of the facts, and invalid excuses, including a claim that Private Tours Greece was doing me a favor by agreeing to a refund because the Greek government had allegedly given it the option to hold my funds indefinitely. I then contacted the general manager of the company, who sent me what purported to be a Greek language request to Alpha Bank (that I was unable to read) to issue the refund, along with further invalid excuses, never responding to my complaint that Private Tours Greece was in breach of its contractual obligation to issue a full refund of my down payment, not to mention doing the honorable thing, i.e., issue an immediate refund from an account he controlled directly, rather than blaming Alpha Bank for the delay by claiming that it "required" 10-15 "working" days to complete the request. Even that outlandishly ridiculous period has now expired! A complaint I submitted to Alpha Bank has received no response to date. It has now been nearly a full month since my refund request of 4/17/2021, and I may have to initiate legal action against Private Tours Greece ... with all the complexities and additional outlays and delays that would involve ... in order to reclaim my funds. The lesson to be learned here is that Private Tours Greece cannot be counted upon to honor its promises and contractual commitments. If there is any chance at all that you may have to cancel your trip, STAY AWAY!
Hydra is one of the most picturesque islands in Greece and one of the most impressive islands in the Argo Saronic Gulf Reaching the port, Hydra island looks glamorous like an art-paint, with grey, white and blue colors above the blue of the sea, an exemplar of architectonics and aesthetics. The town of Hydra island, which is the center of the whole island, is built amphitheatrically around the port, combining nature and architecture.
