Great trip down the waterfront but drive carefully as the waterfront gets busy in summer. Go early and try and go on a day there are no cruise ships in port as this time is very busy. Lots of places to get snacks, ice cream, beaver tails (delicious pastry) and drinks.

With a day's "staycation" in Halifax, a university-aged son with a bike, and me without, I needed to rent: The staff here was friendly, bike-knowledgable and helpful, there were different models to suit the needs of a variety of patrons, and my bike was in excellent working order. I had an awesome two hours cycling around Point Pleasant Park (my son found every hill!) and the south end of the city. Brought back happy memories of my own university days in Halifax when cycling was my principle mode of transportation (except the experience is even better now, with bike lanes downtown!) Great entertainment and exercise value for money - on top of my "Things to do in Halifax" list for sure!!

This sail was wonderful. My wife and daughter and I enjoyed the cruise last night. We have to say that it was The Pirates of Halifax that ‘made’ the evening for us. They were wonderful at engaging the audience, and truly ‘set the mood and tone’ of the evening. I am not a fan of live music, and found myself clapping my hands and tapping my foot along to their performance! The one drawback was one very intoxicated woman, who’s actions and loud talk made it impossible for us to hear the story teller for the first half hour of the cruise. The woman, was very intoxicated when she boarded, had trouble walking, her speech was slurred and quite frankly, her behaviour obnoxious. I feel that she should have been denied boarding, or the very least denied her more alcohol service. The staff made no effort to quiet her, although it was plain that she was annoying everyone. We feel that it was only one of the Pirates of Halifax that finally engaged her and her group in an effort to mitigate her behaviour on others. Despite this, we’re looking forward to sailing again, and will be highly recommending the Tall Ship Silva to everyone!
