The summertime Hamburger Dom is a carnival with rides, games, typical German food and fireworks.
We had a great few hours in the evening here whilst visiting Hamburg. Plenty of fairground rides for all ages. There are German market stalls on the ground selling food, drink, souvenirs and gifts. Prices reasonable (free entry, pay per ride) Lots of fun and something a bit different to do in the evening, highly recommended!

Craftspeople in stands, not corporate stands selling goods from China. Fun and Friendly, not large, but set among old village buildings (Rathaus) with a fortified wall overlooking the town from a hill above (lighted dramatically at night)

Bonn Christmas Market slightly different than Dusseldorf and Colognes, more elegant feel surrounded by higher end residences, steps from Beethoven House which is also a must......

Wow.... we was visiting the markets in central Stuttgart and took the tram out here. Markets are a 5min walk away from the station and it’s well worth the visit out. We got there just after lunch and a good mooch round. The markets are located in-between two churches and is very scenic. Lots of shopping and people opportunity with lots of angel lights which are very pretty in the evening. I would recommend visiting Ludwigsburg palace whilst you are here as it’s only round the corner. The grounds are beautiful and there is restaurant as you enter which serves beautiful food and great for a warm up.
