Traffic delays caused us to be later arrving at this property, but not withstanding that, directions on any website were not very helpful, and indeed, on arrival the sign on the roadside was not clear whether one should turn before or after the sign........we chose the later. However, arriving at the front entrance, unable to translate the instructions, (would have been useful to put a map or, at least an arrow,) we ended up at the golf club! Returning to the main gate we pressed the intercom, very little English spoken, we eventually found out we should be at the back entrance, which had we taken the road before the sign, we would have found the right entrance. Very confusing, as there were no details anywhere to prepare us for this. Once on the property, it was poorly lit to start with and our assigned chalet was right at the front, so luggage had to be hauled via a small trolley. We were not in a very good receptive mood at this stage, the owner offered to cancel, but having seen the traffic from Cognac, it was not a good option to try and find somewhere else. The chalets are well-appointed, bed was comfortable. We settled in, but were puzzled by the continuous overhead light aircraft noise, surprisingly up until 9pm, even on the internet we could find no information about an airfield close by, it was definitely an irritating noise intrusion. I stopped counting at 30 light aircraft flying over, maybe it was the same one........ Athough the kitchenette was reasonably well-equipped, there was not a chopping board, no hand towel and only one teatowel. None of the instructions in the chalet handbook were in English, thankfully, my limited knoweldge of French helped. In the bathroom, there were only bath towels no hand towels, I understand the eco- nature of this property but at this price, one considers this part of a normal luxury standard. If you are still reading this, you can work out how you make this a better experience than we had.

We stayed here for one night, during a 2-day trip to Puy du Fou. The owner was very helpful and spoke really good English! Apparently we were his first ever guests from Ireland. He was even kind enough to book us a table in a fabulous Italian Restaurant in nearby Saint-Laurent-sur-Sevre. Breakfast next morning was absolutely delicious with home-made breads, jams and yoghurts all on offer along with plenty of croissants, cereals and coffee! Nothing was spared! Before we left he took us to a very picturesque spot on the banks of the nearby lake, to take photos of our family. The four of us were delighted to stay here and we were all sorry that it was only for 1 night. I would recommend La Landriére to anybody travelling in this very beautiful part of France.

the breakfast included homemade bread, croissant, pain au chocolate and cookies made with the flour from the moulin - all delicious and served with excellent butter with salt crystals and freshly made fig confiture. Great bedroom and comfy bed overlooking the bridge and river. Although a little difficult to find (its down a narrow cul-de-sac with the Moulin and few houses), it was a beautiful peaceful spot the only noise being the reassuring sound of the water passing through the mill wheel under the house. The private bathroom was a short walk down the corridor and was spacious and well lit. The host Catherine was helpful, friendly and accommodating and provided some of her bread and a splendid brioche (from her shop across the road) at a reasonable cost. its a short walk to the excellent Michelin starred L'Essille hotel/restaurant - a treat to stay in one and eat well in the other

A truly stunning hotel, beautifully decorated and stylish. Wonderful rooms and communal areas. Lovely evening meal with well cooked local regional dishes and accompanying Bio wine list. The local area was new to us but there are lovely local villages in the local hilly region.

Stayed here for two nights while travelling for a family wedding. Room was lovely, clean, spacious with own entrance. Hosts are very friendly and gave us coffee on arrival. They also helped with taxi booking as our French was not good enough! We had continental breakfast into our room, boiled eggs in fabulous Delphi egg cups with a lid! So cute!

Karen and Robert welcomed our large group to the 5 bed 'Maison De La Chasse' Gite. Situated on a hill top over looking the near by river. This large detached converted Villa, brimming with French charm and character. Out -door living is definitely the way to enjoy this villa with its out-door Pool, covered eating area and out-door lounge. A large kitchen dining area takes care of you if the rain decides to fall. Definitely will be looking to re-book this accommodation in a charming , quite part of rural France.

Old renovated farm in a very quiet area, close to the forest, with lots of paths to discover, which enables deconnection from the day to day hectic life and very convenient to resource, rebuild oneself... Three family spaces or individual rooms with kitchen possibilities to have light meals. TV space. This is a mean to get a real break and full authenticity. Welcome to all the ones that research these needs.
We booked the “deluxe suite with bubblebath”. I must say, it is a very special stay, and the owners Veró and Freddo? are amazing kind and prepare a wonderfull breakfast. Vero speaks english as well with the lovely little french accent. The word “deluxe” is a little to much for the suite as is the price level. Anyway we had a wonderfull night on our way to the coast.

We recently moved to France and stayed in one of the Courtyard cottages while we waited for our house purchase to complete. The cottage was in excellent condition and very well equipped, a home from home. But what makes the Courtyard so special are the hosts, Steph, Charlie and their son Finn, they were incredibly welcoming and very professional. Nothing was too much trouble. They were very generous with their time and advice helping us on numerous occasions to navigate the various French systems. They definitely made our move to France easier than it would have been had we not met them. If you are looking for a super holiday cottage with great hosts, lots of facilities including a swimming pool or somewhere to rent for a couple of months then I would highly recommend the Courtyard.
