If you are looking for diversity, you will certainly find it in New Hampshire. From lakes to beaches, waterfalls to woods and mountains to sea coast, the state has huge potential for outdoor vacations, including downhill or cross-country skiing in winter. With no less than seventy-five state parks that offer natural areas, hiking trails, beaches and historic sites, New Hampshire caters for a variety of tastes. Crawford Notch State Park in Harts Location has picturesque waterfalls, wonderful mountain views and opportunities for viewing wildlife. You can go hiking and fishing there as well as pay a visit to the historic Willey House. Monadnock State Park, unlike some other state parks, is open all year round for hiking. Want to go swimming? You will find five state park beaches along the coast of New Hampshire, such as Wallis Sands with its view of the rocky Isles of Shoals. On North Hampton State Beach and Jenness Beach you can have a picnic as well as a swim. When you've finally had your fill of fresh air, head for the Museum of New Hampshire History in Concord with exhibits focusing on heritage and traditions; children should enjoy them just as much as adults.

The new owners are very accommodating, however need to let folks staying in the cabins that #12 is very tiny and there is no closets for hanging clothes. Also the shower is small and the showerhead is not adjustable. Everything else seemed okay.

We stayed here for the week of our 19th anniversary. What a beautiful, quiet spot. Our cottage was absolutely adorable. We brought our own grill not knowing they actually have grills there for use and the cottage was spotless with the request for extra towels all set for our arrival. Our second day there we booked for a long weekend in October with so so many things to do in just a short 15 minute drive to anywhere in the mountains you want to go. Not far from Vermont, where we also spent a day without feeling like we drove all day, just an hour. The people were very nice and we can’t wait to go back!!! Excellent and lovely

We stayed 3 nights as a family in #15. It's a bit of a walk to the lake and you cannot see the lake from the cottage. The cottage has a general kitchen/living room with a pull out couch and 2 bedrooms. The beds and pillows seemed very old as did the couch and should be replaced. Kitchen was not well stocked with proper pans, sufficient plates and bowls, etc. No AC in general room. The wall unit AC's in bedrooms are loud. The best part of the stay was the manager Mike who was always very helpful. Near main Lake Weirs beach area, Meredith, and easy drive into mountains. Towels not replaced or you have to pay for new towels.

Our family of 4 visited New Hampshire for the first time in Aug. 2020. We didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with our stay! Patrick, the innkeeper was more than just a host! Prior to our visit he was incredibly helpful with booking our visit. He helped us with all of our questions and he was there to greet us upon arrival. He is super friendly and welcoming, and made us feel like regulars! The lake access was great for small children and big kids alike! The town is within walking distance and there’s tons of fun to be had there, restaurants, arcades, sight seeing options etc. Highly recommend renting a boat to see all of Lake Winnipesaukee. Thank you Patrick for offering such a great place to step away and just enjoy some much needed time with family! Stay well and See you in 2021!☺️ The Light family~ Lauren, Travis and the girls

We have ten cottages that are open year-round. Most of them have a kitchen and wood-burning fireplace. They all have cable TV, free wifi access, bathroom with shower and towels, coffeemaker and fridge, charcoal grill outside, individual heat. Some cottages are nestled along the Swift Brook. There are hammocks in the summertime for your relaxation. You can roast marshmallows at the central campfire in the summer. The playground includes a swing set and slide for the little kids, basketball hoop, volleyball net, and horseshoes for the bigger kids and adults. We welcome pets in all the cottages.
We have been staying at Sunnybrook for years, and always enjoy ourselves. We just returned from another weekend with our pets. The cottages are cozy and very clean. The grounds are perfect for taking a walk by the river, relaxing at the gazebo or sitting by the campfire. My husband loves to chat with Kenny about cars, and Jane is always welcoming and friendly.

We are a small family run motel located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
I just spent 2 nights at the Shamrock and I was very happy with everything. The room was very clean and comfortable. Each morning there was a very nice assortment of items for a breakfast snack from muffins, hard boiled eggs, fruit and other items. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend the Shamrock. Bruce

Six beautiful vacation cottages in the heart of Sunapee Harbor and just three miles from Mount Sunapee Resort. Frount Mount Sunapee to Lake Sunapee our cottages are the perfect home base for all of your lake and mountain activities. Our modern country cottages have cathedral ceilings, exposed beams and pickled pine walls. These charming cottages are perfect for couples, families and groups. Cottage 1 is our larger two bedroom and comfortably accommodates up to 7 guests. Cottages 2 through 6 have a queen bed on the first floor and 3 twin beds in the loft for a total of 5 guests.
I still can't get over how fortunate I was to find this gem. It is in a beautiful location across the road from Sunapee Harbor. My cottage had a partial harbor view. It was immaculately clean to the extent that I was able to walk around my cottage in white socks, and they stayed that way. I have never been able to even attempt that in a hotel. Debra is a fabulous host and has thought of everything. Many nice touches. I felt safe as a solo female traveler. She offered tourist suggestions for the area including restaurants. I went apple picking, wine tasting, took the cruise on Lake Sunapee, climbed Mt Washington, and had some of that freshly-made ice cream that New Hampshire is known for. I honestly can't say enough good things about it. It was my first time renting a cottage, and I feel like it was definitely the way to go, both for social distancing and to have an appreciation for the area. I would recommend and return.

Took my family there this past August and it was the best vacation we had in years. We couldn't stop talking about it for weeks afterward. Found this place just driving around Squam Lake and pulled in. Talked with Terry the owner and booked the place for the following summer. Terry and Karen were great to deal with and keep the place in great shape. It's such a beautiful place to spend a vacation. Can't wait to get back there in 2022. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Clean and comfortable, pet and family friendly cottages with kitchenettes. Outdoor grills & picnic tables, in-ground pool, playground, horeshoes, indoor/outdoor games & puzzles, guest laundry, DVD/VCR and free movie library. 2-night minimum on reservations, 3+ night discounts and weekly rates. Quiet and refreshing, yet close to area attractions. Just downhill from Echo Lake & Franconia Notch State Park. Open Memorial Day to Columbus Day weekends.
We stayed in the DRYAD for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Yes, the rooms are somewhat outdated but certainly not shabby. The linens were very nice as were the large, thick towels, and we had a nice, firm queen mattress. The bathroom was clean with plenty of space to store your stuff including several hooks (and good water pressure). It was in the 80's while we were there but the room was comfortable with the windows open and the provided oscillating fan on. The cottages are very convenient to all the local attractions and also to the quaint little town of Franconia. Valerie came by to visit one evening and we had a very nice conversation with her including some history on the cabins which were built in the 30's. If we go back to the area we will definitely stay there. It is what it is - a great value, clean and a good place to lay your head after a long day of hiking and sight seeing. This is a perfect room for a couple or single.
