Discover Restaurants offering the best Contemporary food in Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal. The town that gave the country (and port wine) its very name, Porto is Portugal’s second-largest metropolis after Lisbon. Sometimes called Oporto, it's an age-old city that has one foot firmly in the industrial present. The old town, centered at Ribeira, was built on the hills overlooking the Douro River, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 14th-century São Francisco church is a main attraction, as are the local port wine cellars, mostly located across the river at Vila Nova de Gaia.

A restaurant of traditional combinations where the sourdough bread is the star. And we have the river, always following us. Intrigo bread and soul.
Recommended by our inn keeper. We were unsure but went for it. The view is breathtaking. Food is very good. Service could be a bit faster, but what is the rush. They take reservations, and they were needed. Although we did not sit outside, we still enjoyed the scenery.

The Elemento means Fire Dining, a restaurant where the kitchen is cooking everything over wood fire, without any support of gas ou high technology as a normal kitchen. We respect all the seasonality of our ingredients and we change the menu frequentely, s
Extremely good food in quaint surroundings. Had the tastings dinner which was excellent. Multiple courses with a couple of bonuses as well. Service was excellent. All food is cooked using wood as the fuel which creates the only problem including after youâve left the restaurant . Your clothes and your hair will smell smokey. Better ventilation would make this a perfect place. Photos and menu for the night we were there below. Many thanks for sharing your feedback. We hope to see you again at your next trip in Porto :)

After a long day walking around Porto we stopped here for an evening meal. The menu is not extensive, with a mixture of Brazilian and Portugese food. The staff were helpful with explaining and recommending what to eat. Simple food, very enjoyable, sensibly priced.

Typical Portuguese food with deep regional roots with a contemporary execution. High end ambiance with a cosy service, right on Oporto center. For further informations please visit our website
We had been searching for a memorable meal in Porto and had a number of disappointments. Finally we came across Eelebe that satisfied our palette. Mario Fernandes was our maitre d and was a very charming host, recommending each course that met our complete satisfaction as the evening progressed. The decor and background music was also very congenial. In short we have no hesitation in recommending Eelebe restaurant

Porta4 is a "tapas" bar, based on traditional Portuguese gastronomy. It's a small space with a familiar environment where everything is in plain sight - our guests have the chance to accompany every step of the preparation, as if it were a dinner at a fri
Very small so a reservation is a must. They seem to do 2 seatings. Everyone waits until all have arrived to get started. Your choice of tasting plates or entries. They also have fixed price meal. We had the cheese and sausage plate and two small plates. More than enough.

Wandered in at random without a reservation, and were completely blown away by the fantastic food and terrific service. The menu is small plates, meant to be combined & shared; very thoughtful and delicious reimaginings of traditional Portuguese dishes. It was so good, we returned with a friend and were able to verify that it wasn't a fluke! My suggestion is that if you have any questions on food or wine, let Leandro decide - especially the wine, he'll pick the best possible selection for your dinner. We look forward to returning on future visits to Porto, and wish them all the best!Thank you Phil G, we hope see you soon.

We are in Porto but our soul travels the world. The way we see it, a restaurant is a welcoming house full of nice and pleased people, tables glittering with a bouquet of enchants. Therefore we seek every day for local fresh products, which we cook guided
I reserved a place because it is a small place and highly recommended. It was a wise thing to do when I saw the queue outside...beautiful authentic Portuguese restaurant adjacent to the famous train station by the same name, Sao Bento. Amazing atmosphere with tasty food, especially sea fruits but also meat and fish. We enjoyed every minute from the 90 min we had... It is a great pleasure to read your review and to know you had experienced nice food :)Thank you very much for your visit :)Hopefully we see you again soon :)Wish you a great day

A small, cozy, unpretentious and inclusive space, where everyone has an equally interesting and tasty option to taste. A house full of affection in every detail, created by a couple in love with good food and that goes on an eternal search for new combina
We sat at the bar and were so interested to watch the chef preparing the various tapas. The tapas were delicious and the presentation excellent. Have eaten all over the world and the tapas we had tonight were up with the best. We started with the Camembert with honey, garlic and parsley that had been lightly torched served in a metal bowl surrounded by lightly toasted homemade bread. Our second tapas was tuna tartare and we loved it. My husband has always been a little resistant regarding tartars but I had to fight him for every bite. A different presentation than I am used to with the tuna cut in 1/2 inch squares. It was delicious. Would have loved to sample so many more but had to stop as we were full. Such a lovely team we do wish them well. Hello, thank you for coming to our house and reviewing us. We are very happy that you enjoyed your experience with us. We hope to host you again in the future. Thank you for so many great compliments, it's truly a great recognition of our work.
